My review of this Ezpad 5se is in french, but you should be interested: http://www.tablette-chinoise.net/jumper-ezpad-5se-mes-tests/

Hi! Can you write in English for the review as well? Google Translate doesn’t really do well translating… lol. How long is the battery life of your device with continued use? And do you experience any battery drain issues in sleep mode?

Another important point Performance of the device is much better if you turn off the power saving on the intel graphics chip. But, the battery life on the tablet is not so great. So far its about 4 hrs. If you plug in a usb hub to connect a keyboard and mouse, its even worse. I’ll keep experimenting but doubtful this is going to get 6 hrs max. Now it does have microusb port, but I doubt you can charge it fast enough while using to keep using it…I guess you need to top off when not using. It does seem to charge faster with a adaptive fast charger from samsung than any old micro-usb charger. But…the dc charger I ordered was the wrong type. Oops. Still looking for right charger. Given poor battery life and poor performance, even with the wacom stylus support, I’m not loving this tablet so far. Even if it was cheap pretty cheap.

Try checking out this DC charger for tablets from eBay:

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/262371226793?ul_noapp=true

Do you think it will fit the DC jack of EZpad 5SE? According to the product page, they do customize jack sizes according to our needs… But the one on the link, do you think it will fit? I am looking for a DC charger for this tablet as well! Charging via microUSB is really HORRIBLE and it charges really slowly when using the device…

After many weeks I finally got the keyboard cover for the Jumper EZpad 5Se The overall experience is still awful. The cover doesn’t fit well, the magnets are weak I guess–so the keyboard doesn’t stay on very well. The angle for typing is so so. The keys have decent size but are spaced close together so its not great to type. Overall this tablet is pretty awful. My main points

    1. Performance is very poor. It just is very sluggish
    2. Despite being sluggish, battery life is awful. 4.5 hours max, even with screen brightness at 0%. I think they put in a small battery given the size.
    3. The pre-attached screen protector scratches easily when using the included wacom stylus.
    4. Charging is slow on the micro-usb port. I have not been able to locate a dc charger that fits so far.
    5. Screen is…not great either.
    6. The wacom stylus and screen are inconsistent in experience. Some lag I think due to slow processor.
    7. Built quality is ok…but the keyboard is ill-fitting and not the standard of the tablet.
    8. Terrible speakers. But oddly, even using the headphone port is still very weak.

Overall this is very poor. I guess I would be more forgiving if the battery life was passable, but it is very very bad. Asus just released their new tablet–the transformer mini t102ha which seems vastly better so far–although here in the USA it is quite a bit more expensive..

    1. better screen–really bright even at low levels
    2. included keyboard and pen
    3. better performance
    4. VASTLY better battery. This is listed as 11 hours and the actual run time is very close. I’ve been extremely impressed with battery life so far.
    5. 801ac wireless instead of just 801n with the jumper tablet
    6. fingerprint sensor
    7. LOUD speakers

So far I am happy with the transformer. I wish the keyboard was a tiny bit bigger, but I do think I will get used to it. And its all included! <h1 id=”title” class=”a-size-large a-spacing-none”></h1>

I agree with ALL of your main points David!! The battery life of this tablet is TERRIBLE… I can only get roughly around 3 hours from 100% to 20% after using it continuously for web browsing and working with documents… That is BAD! Other tablets like the Chuwi Hi10 can be up to 6 hours of continuous use!! If only I knew about the Chuwi tablet and the drawbacks of the EZpad 5SE before buying it :((

The main reason why I bought this tablet is because of the MS Surface imitation. I really liked the idea of having 2 full-sized USB ports, a DC charging port and a microUSB port as well for charging (which can be convenient with powerbanks), a kickstand, stylus support and a “type cover” keyboard! But boy I did not expect the battery life to be this bad since the capacity is around 6600mAh… Its similar to the Chuwi Hi10 but very different in terms of battery life! Why is this even happening? Do you think it has to do with the software? Maybe it is not optimized thus the battery drains quickly? I wonder if there will be a fix for this issue since most users are obviously experiencing this…

And the speakers, MY GOD. I thought mine was faulty! Turns out its just that bad to begin with… Mine seems to be louder for the right speaker than the left.. Maybe the left speaker is faulty, but plugging in earphones the volume is still low as you said! How is this even possible… Usually earphones volume should be loud and clear no matter what the brand the device is.. I guess the Jumper just has too many flaws :///

I really thought this brand was good enough.. Apparently my research wasn’t enough. Because I saw reviews of the Jumper EZbook 2 to be mostly positive, with good build quality and battery life and reviewers recommend them, thinking it would be the same for the EZpad 5SE! But they don’t even have a proper website… Thats already an indication that its not a reputable company :S At least Teclast and Chuwi especially, have a proper support page! They even provide firmware and drivers for their devices.

Honestly I feel like crying and stupid to even buy this product as I am a student… Money is limited for me and I was betting for this to be a good investment for me to use on the go. And I lost the bet because its a very bad product! :'( Should’ve stick to buying the Chuwi Hi10 because at least that model has full sized USB ports and keyboard cover as well… I could live without the stylus and kickstand as long as the battery life is acceptable.. But I didn’t know then such model was available >.<

Please, if anyone can give me some comforting words regarding this predicament it would be highly appreciated. Or if anyone knows a fix to the battery issues that would be even better! Battery is the main thing I’m hating at the moment second to the very low volume of the device…

Hello i fixed the tablet (thanks to nicolas) and i also made a coolpad mod now it runs cooler  🙂

But one problem remains, the magnets on the bottom affect the stylus.

Without the cover the stylus works perfectly at the bottom, but if i put the cover with the magnets back on the tablet the stylus won’t work correctly at the bottom. The stylus is basicly the same as the samsung note series. Look at the video to see how magnets affect the stylus.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1JKkriig0NU

Has anybody a solution for that problem exept removing the magnets because i would still like to use the keyboard?

I think everybody Has this problem, or am i wrong ?

I believe it’s impossible to fix on a software level. I have a lot of wacom device : note 3,  note 8.0, vivotab note 8… they always work wonky  when used with a cover that use magnet, no matter  how many calibration  hack performed. I believe there is some sort  of shielding to protect wacom digitizer  from magnet of the speakers  but I don’t know which material, and this dock magnet is stronger than speakers so it should be even harder to shield.

It’s not exactly a defect, just a natural flaw of the digitizer -it’s not designed to work with magnet. Also Wacom EMR is known for inaccuracies  in corner and edge. I don’t mind it that much because I always draw in the middle of the screen, you just get used to it.

Bad battery confirmed. Disabled everything including onedrive startup, location service, bluetooth, wifi off during sleep. Only wifi on and 0% screen lighting. Draw with clip studio in coffee shop for 2.5 hours: battery from 66% to 6%.

My i5 4302y hp x2 612 might last just as long and only take 1hour (during use ) to charge up to 100%.

The Ezpad take 4 hours and only when  tablet is off to charge  up to 100%. For a tablet using atom low power chip to last less than a core i5 is unacceptable. I might not mind that it only last 4 hours because  I’m never away from an outlet for long, but for it to take 4 hours (without use) to charge up is too much. If I use it while charging even with lowest setting, the tablet still discharge  which mean the power the micro usb draw is not enough to offset the power tablet use when ilde.

I’m hoping  dc connection might provide better power but not sure which dc to try. I read that the previous version Ezpad 5s came with dc charger. Nicolas, if you have the original Ezpad 5S, can you try the dc charger if it can charge faster on the Ezpad 5SE?

Nicolas, even if it’s slower, can it charge the battery during use?

Last night I found another problem with it: the battery drain even when shut down! It happened a few time and I thought it’s a fluke but last night I tested and found it to be true. I charged it up to 100% then shut down, unplug  and go to sleep. The next morning I turned it  on and found only 60% left. At this point I believe it’s not a matter of small battery anymore but there is definitely something wrong with this device. The battery drain even when shut down  so only way to keep it working would be keep it chained to a wall even when the tablet has full charge and shut down.

I love the size, form factors and design of the device and drawing with it is a pleasure ( it beat every other unbranded stylus tech of other Chinese tablets). It would have been a perfect device to draw in coffee or away from desk if the battery life didn’t leave me hanging. As it is I can’t recommend it to my artist friends.
