Hi all.
The document Teclast release for flashing Android on our TBooks is quiet old and deprecated. I ran a test update of the Android partition today and can confirm, that the lastet flash tools from Intel work perfectly. They are provided on Intels own open source platform 01.org:
https://01.org/android-ia/downloads/intel-platform-flash-tool-lite
Even better: The tools provided here are even for Linux and OSX!
They also provide the needed Android USB drivers:
https://software.intel.com/android/articles/intel-usb-driver-for-android-devices
The test I ran today was done under Windows 7 in a virtual machine (VMware running under Windows 10) as I didn’t get it up and running directly under Windows 10.
You have to first install the USB driver and afterwards the flash tool. I had to explicitly allow the installation as Windows warned me the provider couldn’t be trusted 🙂
Will experiment a bit with the provided flash.js script. It’s quiet informative…
May 18, 2016 at 2:00 pm #37831I can now also confirm a success with a recovery flash. That one deletes ALL partitions on the device first, including Windows 10.
By that step I realized another funny thing on how to get into the standard Android boot menu to among other reach the Android recovery mode:
- When reaching the bootloader screen (which provides the OS selection) select Android and confirm with the “power” button
- Immediately press and hold the “volume down” button when the “Teclast” logo appears
- Finally this will lead you into the standard Android boot manager (see pictures I attached)

If you’re comfortable with working through the bios and maybe some commands you shouldn’t have an issue using the process they give you. I’m not fond of flashing tools as ANYTHING can happen when using them.
May 31, 2016 at 1:26 am #39250Hi Crazy Cookies,
Can you provide instruction on how to use this flash tools to delete all of the partitions on the devices and reinstall everything. How do I use the official rom with this flash tool?
I am the one who posted who had this problem.

I would like to try your method to see if the memory of the device is actually damaged or it is so some partition problem.
Thanks very much.
