Zeigar posted a good summary here http://techtablets.com/forums/topic/rooted-rom-v3-by-tecknight/. I followed his summary without any issues. His summary points to other posts, pay attention to step (4) of http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=61852850&postcount=10160, and select the partition table that won’t touch Windows.
Regarding your questions:
- All custom ROMs are rooted. You do not need to root it first by yourself.
- No there is no need to check the BIOS version to install custom ROM, but I heard BIOS 2.02 resolved battery drain issue. You need to connect you tablet by the OTG cable and attached a keyboard to it. When you power up your tablet, after you see something onscreen, press the ESC key, you are then in the BIOS. Check the tPad version, this is your BIOS version. If your comes with Windows 10 installed, it is very likely that the BIOS is 2.05.
- Sorry I don’t know the answer.
Hope this helps.

09/06/15 17:42:12.800 ERROR : Port 0/0/6 #0: Flash failureSeptember 6, 2015 at 7:44 pm #11041I’ve tried again and its the same result. When I go to try a different Rom instead, e.g “X98_Air_3g_android_5.0_mirek190_v5.0-ultra-light”, there is no *.zip, or *.xml files to allow me to select in the MFT and move onto the flashing. I’m stumped here. Any ideas?
September 7, 2015 at 6:59 pm #11092Vince,
Try downloading this file:https://drive.google.com/uc?id=0B8BF9-TGlz-FV2RmTTc4MHVmYUk&export=download
It is a .7z archive, use 7zip to extract it to a folder on your PC.
7zip is freeware, available here:http://www.7-zip.org/download.html
Once you have extracted the archive, flash it using these instructions:
September 7, 2015 at 7:04 pm #11093Thanks TechKing.
I already had that rom downloaded but downloaded it again anyway. It has no XML files. Am i missing something here?
Edit*
The only files in the extracted folder are@
boot
droidboot
esp
null
recovery
system
Edit** I tried the suggested 7z unzipper and it gave different files. So thats a great advance. However, when I open the rom in MTF i get different options that the expected ones:
full flash with repartition
flash system only no wipe data
flash system only wipe date
I only want to install the android on the same place the last version was on. Do I have this option here?
Thanks
Edit***
I went for the option “flash system only wipe date” and it worked!! Thanks for the assistance. I wont edit this post to clean it up in case it helps others in a similar position.
Thanks Again
September 8, 2015 at 12:13 am #11102Yes, you selected the correct option. Enjoy
September 8, 2015 at 12:55 am #11103FYI, this ROM should get rid of the thermal event popups as well
September 8, 2015 at 8:56 am #11115Brilliant.
It’s slim, it’s sleek and runs smooth. And like you said, not one Thermal Event since!
Many Thanks

September 11, 2015 at 8:58 am #11270Hi Matek,
I still have the original Windows 10 Rom that came with the tablet and it seems to run fine with no power issues that I have noticed. I think I read somewhere about power issues too, but I have no idea if this is only for the Windows patrition, Android or both. But my power levels seems normal. So maybe you have some apps with notifications coming up while you sleep, or apps updating in the background perhaps. This would use your battery. All I can suggest is getting assistance from the knowledgable guys on here as I am new too really. Maybe in the meantime, until you find a fix, you could turn tablet off when your finished with it, or use an app to stop the applications running in the background safely. Also, check if you have games that you have turned notifcations ‘off’.
My table came with Android 4.4.4 like yours I think, but I upgraded to Android 5 Lollipop Rom (X98_Air_3g_android_5.0_mirek190_v5.0-ultra-light) and this runs fine and smooth for me, and even fixed the thermal event issue. Maybe you could try Android 5?
I hope you get your tablet running well and get assistance better than my knowledge.

November 2, 2015 at 9:01 pm #14794Having been using it for a while, there is a problem with the battery on this one as well. It last maybe 6 hours or normal usage and then needs to be recharged, its terrible 🙁
If anyone know a resolution, it would be great?
