Android Lollipop upgrade

I would like to upgrade my KitKat 4.4.4 to either Lollipop or Marshmallow, whichever would be best at this point. I am not really familiar with the Android way of doing things, so I’m stumped as to what it is I need to do. I’ve found several upgrade downloads, but I don’t know which file to use first, as the files and their extensions are different than what I’m accustomed to dealing with. I really like the Android operating system, and would like to upgrade if at all possible. I feel a little dense, as I can usually seek and find the answers I’m looking for, but would really appreciate any help anyone could give. Thank you in advance for any assistance.

You aren’t going to be able to upgrade Android.  The upgrade would either need to come from Chuwi, or be created by a community created ROM for the Hi8 Pro, and from what I’m seeing there is little effort being put into that.
