    Hello everybody.

Received my dual Hi8 and inserted an sd card for extra space in both win and android.

Card is recognised in both systems, but in android, I cannot install apps to the sd card.

App2SD says there is limitation to my android system and external card cannot be used.

Also in settings, there is no option to change default storage space.

Had searched all topics in this Hi8 forum and there is no mention on that limitation.

Quite surprising, since with win 10, the internal space to android is already limited.

Having in mind that I do want to keep the tablet as dual, what would you suggest in order to be able to use external sd card to android ?

Perhaps root is required, ok, then what?

Any successful procedure, eg with link2sd and card partitioning or something else easier perhaps ?

Hi. Yes, you need to root your tablet. The procedure is pretty straightforward and it can be found in the forum.

I’m using Link2SD. Once an app is installed, you can use it to move the data to the sd card (it’s automated). For example, with Modern Combat 5, a 900 mb app,  822 mb are stored on the sd card.

I’m using a slow sd card (max 7-8 mb/s read speed), so loading times are affected. I don’t know what is the fastest reading speed supported by the tablet.

I found all Apps 2 SD applications to be pretty rubbish as they do not let you move the obb folders across to your SD card, only data folders.

I am using folder mount on a rooted HI8 and can store lots of games on my device, I have a few 2gb games and plenty of 1gb games on my device and they work great. I’m using a class 10 fast 32gb micro sd
