    I have the most recent batch of hi8 pro.  Windows 10 + android 5.1 dual OS.

    Battery wise, I can charge it and use it. So far not much problem.  The only problem, the screen is causing me to feel nausea/giddy. Not sure why.

    Also please note, there are many complains on the previous batch of hi8 pro ( windows 10 only).

    I’ve heard the issues are meant to have been fixed on the factory dual OS hi8 Pro. I should have one arriving in a few days to test out and see myself.

    @Ryan
    Is it from display flicker maybe that’s causing that? Can you see any flicker or the screen pulsing?

    @chris nope, i can’t see any flickering from the screen ( in android OS ) . However, I noticed that I will feel very bad after using it even for a short while.  Also, the brightness of the screen is very strong even if you set to zero percent ( I had to use app like night screen ).  In windows 10, it seems to be slightly better.

    Not sure why. But probably me being too sensitive.

    The set is quite usable if you don’t have problem like me.  The screen is sharp, fairly responsive. Though quite a few times, it just blackout . You have to reset it back by pressing the power button . Battery drains fast.

    Trying to root but still not successful.

    @Ryan, thanks for the information. Yeah, I heard about the first batch via this site, I was hoping they have fixed it in the dual OS version, as it really seems like my cup of tea. Sorry to hear about your nausea, I hope you work out a solution.

    @Chris
    , great site, I have found it very useful. I might hold off and see what you think of it, that way I will have two informed opinions.

    I got the second batch from banggood (dualboot chuwi) it seems  better as the first batch. sadly it shuts off at 15/16%, batterybar tells me the battery has 10% wear (3800Mah available of 4300Mah)

    Completely draining and recharging didn’t helped maybe the problem can be solved just by changing some bios setting (a ton of features which are unknown to me)

    @daan kroon: is this the only problem you have with the dual boot hi8 pro?  How long does the battery last

    Thanks for adding your information @Daan Kroon. I recall seeing on a video on this site that battery bar can misread sometimes, hopefully you have not already lost capacity on your battery. Just keep in mind lithium ion basics to ensure longevity, ie. don’t leave the battery completely discharged or completely charged for long periods. Eg. If you are charging whilst the tablet is in use and it is at 100%, unplug it for awhile, and if you are going to not be using your tablet for awhile, leave it at around 40% – 50% charge. I was recently looking in to re-calibrating my phone battery; I am not sure if you have specifically tried this: Completely deplete the battery, *charge it to 100% with the OS off*, boot and (if it shows less than 100% in OS) charge it to 100%, and repeat that procedure.

    Though it is sounding like the new batch of Hi 8 Pro’s are better, I’ll wait for Chris’s opinion upon him receiving his, which apparently will be soonish.

    I have decided upon a Cube iwork10 Ultimate, it is on it’s way; thanks again for the input guys. And again, Chris, thanks for the site, I’ll be recommending it.

    I have a dual boot Chuwi Hi8 Pro, and it still has the same battery issues. It shut down at 36 % reported battery. I let it charge over night, but the charge stopped at 77 %. It also reports a 8000 mWh battery, which is probably the source for all the confusion.

    It still works, though ! I just try to keep the battery charge as high as I can to avoid the < 40 % charge sudden death. It takes hours to even charge a few percent, though, even when the tablet is switched off.

    Pretty crappy if you ask me. Much happier with my Teclast X 98

    Heh, sorry to hear of your woes. Seeing no mention of battery issues (and barely any other issues) in the TT iwork10 forum helped me select that instead. I may have dodged a bullet somewhat. It will be interesting to see Chris’s take on the Hi8 Pro dualOS when he receives it.
