Hello,
I have recently gotten a Chuwi Hi8 and have a few questions about battery wear / calibration in general.
To begin with, the tablet came to me dried out (I assume it turned itself on during the delivery), so I charged it to full, but noticed that full was only 92%, so I followed an advice I saw around to fully use the battery and charge it; after doing so, it topped off at 98% and I figured that’s good enough.
After a few cycles of regular usage (going down to 10-30% before charging, and then leaving it to charge overnight; side question: is that a bad thing? do I have to monitor the charging and unplug a bit before full charge?) I noticed something strange – it started going all the way up to 100%, but battery bar showed a “battery wear” level of 10% (HW monitor shows it as 9%). Is that just some sensor misreading? When the tablet first arrived, the same tools showed the battery wear at 0%, so I assume it’s a new unit and not a reused old battery. I am no expert on battery wear, but if this thing wears down 10% every week I will hardly have any battery to even watch a single movie on it 🙁
What can I do to get more information on this and reduce the battery wearing in the future?
Cheers,
Vic
