i’d recommend you an anker charger and type-c cable. good, cheap and tested stuff. also the type-c cable is approved by the dude at google that tried them all.

    hi @Laura

can I ask you if you measure the voltage charge with one of those charger? Maybe using Ampere on Android and/or BatteryInfoView on Windows?

    thanks

(sorry guys, I replied but can’t see my own post, so please forgive me if there will be double posts)

    hi @Laura

did you checked the voltage charges of those two chargers? Maybe using Ampere on Android and BatteryInfoView on Windows?

    I’m very curious..

what do you mean? if you want to know the current draw, the tablet draws a maximum of 1.84A, exactly the same as the non-type-c version.

thanks but nope, I would like to know if those chargers are able to charge at that voltage with this tablet!

I used different charges I own that go from 1.8mA to 2.1mA, but no one is able to charge at the maximum voltage, like the stock one does.. Chargers are indeed working perfectly with their respective smartphones and tablets..

why do you care about voltage? it’s 5v as per USB standard. its about 5.10-5.20 on my charger. this tablet does not have any quick charge technology, it draws 1.84A@5V and that’s it.

also, there is no stock charger as the tablet doesn’t come with one. if it did, it’s the seller that put a random one in the box for you

yep you are right, I meant “stock”.. 😀

what I’m tryin to say is that with a 2.1 charger voltages are around 800mA, with a 1.8 they are even lower but going u and down; with the charger seller sent me (two times the same, I asked for a replacement) voltages are around 1.240 up to 1.400..

so I fear that not all chargers charge at same voltages..

btw as long as I noticed, I never reached 1.8mA with any charger! 🙁

you are confusing voltage with current, they are 2 very different things. what you’re talking about is not voltage but current. as i said, this tablet draws 1.84 Ampere from a 5V usb charger. so any quality usb charger rated @2A will suffice.

also, it seems you’re using some kind of software/app to measure the current, that’s wrong and possibly not accurate. if you really want to measure the real current flow you must get an usb voltage/current meter.

i got this one http://www.banggood.com/MantisTek-White-Tail-USB-Doctor-Voltage-Current-Detector-Power-Tester-p-1017785.html which is pretty good and it’s what i used to measure the current drawn by the tablet

Cable and charger has nothing to do with this. First it’s normal that it’s slower from about 80% to 100%. Charging from 1 to 80 takes about the same time as 80 to 100. Then there is a bug with the charging chip in this tablet. Then there is some kind of bug with the cgarging chip in this tablet (combined with how Windows charges). It can’t properly charge to 100% most of the time, but also you can’t have proper ac mode with this tablet. Windows tends to not charge a battery over 95% if you have ac connected, mostly all my devices and laptops stay at 95% and never charge higher, because Windows thinks the device is using AC mode. Unfortunatly this device doesn’t support constant AC mode, it will go to about 98-100 then uses the battery again and then charges it again and so on.

The max this tablet charges is about 1.84A (depending on the charging curve) @ 5V. So any 2A 5V charger do fine, regardless of the cable you use. You don’t need a “expensive” usb voltage meter btw, I am using this one and it works fine: http://www.ebay.de/itm/USB-Capacity-tester-TIME-Current-Voltage-Meter-LED-Voltmeter-Digital-Amperemeter-/282236788402?var=&hash=item41b69f9eb2:m:m6OlJpY9ZwnPTBcjJ7hnKQQ

I am using this cable though, it has lifetime warranty and is the best cable I ever used: https://www.amazon.com/Syncwire-Braided-Type-C-Charger-Durable/dp/B01C8BFHW4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1480554393&sr=8-1&keywords=Syncwire+usbc
