Blank live tiles and missing icons

I have no idea when it happened but I think it was after Anniversary Update.

I tried everything I found on internet except clean install or repair install, some users says repair install doesn’t work. Most of apps are working, some not, some icons inside the apps are squares as well. I think something is corrupted but I can’t find what.

I’d say do a fresh install. I had a really corrupt Windows 10 install on another laptop recently where loads of programs wouldn’t run, file permissions were all messed up, etc. Nightmare. A fresh install was the only solution.

Thanks but I solved it with no fresh install. I did an in-place upgrade, I took ownership of the app folders, reinstalled all apps using 10Apps Manager, only mail and calendar were broken, I found I had 2 languages of it, I uninstalled Portuguese from Windows, I couldn’t erase the folders but I could rename, installed them again and voilà! Fresh install was my next resource, fortunately I didn’t need it… I fixed just in time to use it at gym tomorrow.
