Bmax y11 brightness settings broken

so i bought this bmax y11 from banggood last week and for nearly a week i have tried everything to get the brightness settings to work drivers all bios settings even tried Linux.

Nothing will budge the laptops from 100% screen brightness tried every windows and registry setting so battery dies in 1.5hrs max. this is obviously a bios issue with this junk or faulty system board but bmax do not supply bios updates so this is for the dustbin.

what bios version do owners have ?

I have the same issue with the Bmax Y11 and I can’t find a proper fix in the drivers etc.

However if anybody is stuck with this problem I have found an acceptable workaround.

There is some stand alone software that can adjust the screen brightness called Dimscreen.

A google search for “dimscreen” will find it easily enough from the usual places but I have put the link to the actual developers website below:
