BMAX Y13 – some keys not working

I was having that problem some time ago, after thermal mod for cpu, some keys not working properly, needs like 30 times pushing to get a response.

I  think is an internal conflict with drivers. Way to solve that is open your laptop, very carefully to not hit power button with back cover, because that button it’s very very very fragile. Now, disconnect battery (it’s a connector with few thin wires), wait some minutes and reconnect it.

Had the problem in August. I left it at a local technician service center and they conclude that the keyboard needs replacement due to water damage, 3 months and they can’t find one, BMAX also doesn’t reply to my email asking for a replacement board, even I said I’ll buy it. So I asked the technician to assemble it back and I’ll bring it again when I’ve found the replacement. Magically, when I try it again, it all works. So I guess I’ve been fooled (but failed). All it needs is opening and some dust cleaning.

I had a same issue and tried to use a external usb key board to escape this problem. However, I decided to replace the keyboard once I found the replacement keyboard from Aliexpress. Aliexpress seller sent me the keyboard approx 10 days. The biggest challenge to replace the keyboard of Bmax y13 is to remove the metal plates. If you take out screws and flat cables one by one, you will finally face the issue that the keyboard is covered by big metal plates. The metal plates are bonded by many plastic bits which can not remove easily. There are some other laptop is the same config, some website recommend me to use soldering iron to melt them to take metal plates. I started very small bits, then I understand how to do it gradually, Once you know how to, you will find this is not difficult tasks. After take off metal plates, we also need to get rid of keyboard back lights sheets, take off very carefully. Finally, we can replace the keyboard.

Good morning, I have a Bmax Y13 since 2020 and a few days ago the same problem described in this thread occurred. Exactly the same keys (a, f, x, c, n, …) stopped working. It is strange that they are exactly the same. I have tried different things but it doesn’t fix.
Has anyone found a way to fix it?
