Booting problem

Similar stuff has happened to me. Today I told Win10 to reboot and it seemingly shut down the system, which was completely unresponsive (even to a long power-button press) until I pressed whatever combo of volume rocker + power triggers the BIOS. It was OK after I powered off / rebooted from there.

Long story short, the X98 Plus is a little fly by night and is prone to weird errors and technical errata. Guess that comes with the low price tag.

It happens to me sometimes. What I do is:
1. Hold the power button for 10 seconds and let go.
2. Hold the power button again and after 5 seconds it usually starts.

The logic behind is is to force power off in case the device is not entirely off, and then turn it on again.

It worked for me few times already but it could be just luck 🙂

Same thing has happened to me as well. Sometimes either connecting the tablet to power, or to a PC will get it to respond again. Very annoying all the weird little things this device does.

I have problem . completely new x98 plus . sometimes and sometimes not want to start. after the update can not win can not install this android i win..a and will not any time to work … I propose to geekbying where I bought it to give it back to them and they fix it . and I do not like because I already waited 30 days to reach me 🙁 i used to see how to load and sometimes not

Im having the same problem with my x98 Plus re powering on issue. The tablet is 3 weeks old and I was using win10 at uni, i shut all apps down and put tablet into standby with quick power button press. 16 hours later i could not get any responce from tablet. Long pressed power button for differing lengths of time over 2 days… nothing. I then went onto this forum and thread and tried a power long press while holding volume button and for some reason it has now booted! WTF! I was just about to send a message to GearBest for a defective x98 refund…. I cannot have it not powering on for days and then starting only when it feels like it…

Who tried to update firmware with Teclast OTA ? Does it solve the problem ?
