Have you tried charging it with the original supplied charger?
October 27, 2015 at 1:05 pm #14311Going to try tonight, they sent the Euro adapter and I am in Canada so that was a no g last night, I am going to bring my adapter from work, but even a trickle charge is not showing up. if it only works with their adapter it’s going to be a Giant Pain ;( So far I think it’s a dead tablet, I charged it all night last night and it won’t power on at all, and that charger charges my Asus tablet with an Intel chip in it.
Not a big fan of Gearbest so far, took three weeks to even ship this POS and now they sent me a dead tablet it looks like. Glad I paid with Paypal.
October 27, 2015 at 2:10 pm #14314Check the output amperage of your Asus charger. If it is not in the region of 2.0+A, it will probably be insufficient to charge the battery. A standard mobile phone charger will almost certainly be insufficient. In addition, use the supplied USB cable as it has an AWG rating of 22 – which is important as it is intended for higher output chargers.
The supplied charger/cable is the best one to use – even if it is the 2 pin variety – can you not use an adapter?
October 27, 2015 at 2:12 pm #14315Yes, Going to try my adapter from work tonight and see what happens, fingers crossed it works!
Will let you know what happens, would rather not wait to get a new one 🙂

October 27, 2015 at 2:20 pm #14316I am confident that will correct it. I never really concerned myself with how important the correct output charger and cable was until I received my X98 Pro!
October 27, 2015 at 2:21 pm #14317Awesome, thank you so much for your help!
October 27, 2015 at 2:31 pm #14318Happy to help…when I first received my X98 Pro, I attached my phone charger without thinking…and the battery started to deplete…I then quickly realised the 160 mAh output of the phone charger would be woefully inadequate for the very particular requirements of the X98’s 8000 mAh battery.
October 28, 2015 at 6:47 pm #14381So I charged with the proper charger, I used my adapter, still bricked, looks like I am going to return it 🙁
October 28, 2015 at 7:27 pm #14383Curios do you see the charging Icon on the main screen my flashes up every 5 ~ 10 minutes Pic of a battery middle of screen green bar filling it up.
Also hold that on button for at least 5 seconds or more (you most likely know that) 🙂October 28, 2015 at 7:28 pm #14384Yeah, held the button for ages, held the power on it’s own and power and volume up and power and volume down.
Nothing, and no charging icon, I think the tablet is dead on arrival 🙁
October 28, 2015 at 7:42 pm #14385Not good, hope you get it sorted quickly.
October 28, 2015 at 9:32 pm #14392And you have left it charging overnight?
- Hold down the power button for over 10 seconds. Now it should be off 100%
- Leave it overnight to charge with the original 2.5A charger.
- Try to power it on pressing the power button for 3-4 seconds.
- No luck, try 10-second hold. Then 5 seconds.
- If it still doesn’t power on, try another charger.
- Still no luck? Get in touch with your seller.

Currently testing: LG G8X & Redmi K30October 28, 2015 at 10:41 pm #14394Yeah. Already contacted Gearbest. Their customer service isn’t great. But I did all of those things and it’s dead for sure. Their charger. My own Asus tablet charger. Different cables. Nothing. No charging icon with any charger I tried.
October 29, 2015 at 1:08 am #14395Not good. Bios is corrupted or some other hardware issue not causing it to boot. Record a video of it and show them, might help. Normally they will ask you to return it for replacement.
