Quick update: 5 minutes after my last post, I was able to switch on chuwi and log in into windows.

It seems to work for now, i’ll wait for battery at 100% then I’ll close the back cover.

Many thanks for the guide, it’s very very very clear and helpful.

    Hey guys!

i bought the same programmer as in the tutorial posted. I installed the driver for the programmer but when I open the programmer software the device state is: not connected. I tried several times on different computers running Windows 7 and 10. What am I doing wrong. Any ideas? Please help me bring my Chuwi back to life!

    Thanks,

    Stefan

I have a bricked HI-13 in my hands. Unsoldered BIOS and EC eeprom and reflashed them with the V14 bios.

I needed to unsolder the W25Q64 because it’s didn’t got 1.8v on the VCC pin when on board. Once unsoldered and using a 1.8V line converter, I was able to program it.

Battery is around 8V. When pressing power button, EC bios gets 3.3v for 13-14s and 5v line is also ok. Still no 1.8V on main bios, thus probably CPU doesn’t get powered either. Black screen and no leds

    Somebody a similar experience ?

Ran in the same problem, with W7, fortunately I had an old XP, which solved the problem. But I read somewhere that drivers for W7 do exist.

Just like JB, I flashed z8300 bios on my z8350 tablet. Clearly my prior research efforts were insufficient.

IMHO, info on the Chuwi forms is fragmented, and the language is unclear, as the number of people having similar problems attests. I think this is something Chuwi can improve. It should be easy for a BIOS flash procedure to verify the hardware is indeed correct before proceeding. Other firmware updates I’ve done were ‘foolproof’ in this respect. If something can be checked automatically, it should be checked automatically!

I purchased from the Chuwi Intelligent Store on aliexpress. I am in touch with them to see what can be done, and how much it may cost. Return shipping to China from here will be about €30. If they’re kind enough to repair and return it for free, I’ll probably do that. Otherwise, I can order the flashing gear from the UK for about €30, and receive them in a week.

If I do flash my BIOS, my Windows product key (in the ACPI tables) will be wiped. I don’t know if that will cause problems for the existing Windows installation, which has already been activated. Even if not, I don’t know if it will cause problems later, at upgrade time. I recall posts on the Chuwi forum indicating that you can use standard windows key extraction software to view your key, and then some specialist AMI software (possibly linked on Chuwi forum) to set that key in your bios directly from Windows. This additional fuss with product keys is another reason why I’d prefer if Chuwi can fix this for me.

I’ll post any response I receive. The first one asked me for a video of the bricked tablet. The second asked me to charge for 36 hours. Waiting on the third.

Third response: Hold power button for 16 seconds. I said I tried that.

Fourth response: Send a video of how you did the update. I just sent this.

Also stated in fourth response “if you return to us to test it ,the shipping fee is too expensive”, so this may lead nowhere.

I have the same problem as you. My HI13 is dead after doing that infamous 1.14 BIOS update. No boot, no charging LED. My tablet serial number is Q64G45170901726

Did you manage to repair your tablet ?

    Thanks.

hello, thanks to the existence of this web type and users, where there is very useful information, I was able to recover my chuwi hi10plus from the brick, now I have it working as before and until the problem was solved that the SD did not recognize.
I thank you infinitely, even the technical support of the brand is not compared.
