Can Chuwi Surbook or Surbook Mini run Linux Mint or any Linux Distro??

I have a laptop with Linux Mint and would like a 2 in 1 tablet like the Chuwi Surbook or Surbook Mini.  A friend looked on the Mint forum for some help and saw a post that said Chinese tablets have trouble with Linux.   I am not very tech savvy, but my understanding from the post is Linux has trouble with the 32 bit UEFI on lower priced tablets.  Has anyone had success running any version of Linux (particulary Mint) on a Chinese tablet?  I pasted the info I found on the forum below.  Thanks very much for any info.  Regards,  Frank

One thing to bare in mind, several of the lower priced tablets use a 32-bit UEFI with a 64-bit OS. So installation of GNU/Linux can be difficult due to many distributions only supporting UEFI with their 64-bit OS versions.

I know of one exception, if you’re UK (or possibly Europe) based, a great priced tablet called <strong class=”m_-1528771978093293331gmail-text-strong”>Linx 12X64, it’s made in China but sold in the UK, I know for definite it has a 64-bit UEFI and runs Mint.

There’s still a few niggles with Cherry Trail (and newer) CPU’s, but thankfully each new Kernel revision adds more support for newer hardware.

PS: Be careful not to get the older Linx 12V64 model, as far as I know, it comes with a 32-bit UEFI.
