Long story short, I wanted to do a clean install on my Hi8 with dualboot, so I can remove the Android partition. This has proven to be a major mistake, I cannot get the touch screen working, upon reinstallation, in addition, I have many “Unknown Device”s in Device Manager. The volume keys and power buttons also do not respond correctly, they are mapped to completely different keys not. I have thus far tried the following to no success;
-Clean Install Windows 10, ran Double Driver to restore; FAIL
-Ran the Windows Image from the Chuwi Forums that is supposed to contain all the drivers; FAIL
-Ran Double Driver on the Windows Image; FAIL
-Copied the sileadtouch .sys and .fw files to both Windows\System32 and Windows\System32\Drivers; FAIL
-Uninstalled and reinstalled some devices; FAIL
-Stared blankly at a wall for hours contemplating my existence; FAIL
The guides here are awfully vague on a lot of details it seems and it would help if someone could give me the exact steps on how they managed to restore Windows so I can be sure wither or not the problem is just with the tablet itself
June 1, 2016 at 7:39 am #39450I did it the same way i I reinstall all windows machines, the only trick here is that after you restore with doubledriver you need to right click on the .inf file from the silead package and click install and then restart? after that everything was as new. I installed win 10 32-bit.

I just tried doing a clean reinstall again to run the touch package after double driver. How long does double driver usually take for you to run? When I ran double drivers and restored everything I was met with the usual dialogues to verify I trust the sources.etc and then it was stuck on “Installing Drivers” for well over an hour, believing the operation timed out I force closed the program and restarted, only to meet with a bootloop because of an incomplete driver install. So I booted into Safe Mode, ran double driver again, this time it instantly told me the install was completed. I installed silead via right-click .inf from the Win10 package and then restarted, still no touch. Looking at device manager and I still have many “Unknown Device”s, however, I did find out which one of those was the touch screen, upon installing it manually and rebooting it still does not work, looking at device manager and it states it cannot start do to insufficient resources available and to disable other devices first…
