Can someone who is still running Win 8.1 do something for me?

If you have the keyboard dock can you do me a favour and try the swipe gestures for Windows 8 on the touchpad? The ones like swipe in the from the right to get the charms bar and from the left to get the app switcher. Do they work?

If they do work, can you do the following:

1. Press the Windows () key + C, or swipe in from the right edge of the screen to open your Charms, select Settings, then click or tap Change PC settings.
2. Tap or click PC and devices, then tap or click Mouse and touchpad

Can you see if it says “Your PC has a precision touchpad” under the Touchpad section?

Under Windows 10, the touchpad is just listed as a normal HID-Mouse which means that gestures don’t work at all other than scrolling.

The gestures work fine for me on Win 8.1 with the original keyboard.

Hmm, 8.1 doesn’t see it as an advanced touchpad then.

With Windows 10  none of the 3-finger gestures work. I was wondering if it was a driver issue but it needs to be an advanced touchpad for them to work as far as I know.

Does your device manager show it as a generic HID-Mouse or something else?

Under device manager there is only HID-compliant mouse

The gestures are hardware made in the dock – the right swipe send to the OS the Win+C combination, like you press on keyboard.
That’s why they don’t work on Win10 – there are other keyboard shortcut.

It’s bad that we cannot change settings about the touch pad.

The cortana always opened when i swipe from right to left, it’s very annoying!
