Change Chinese windows to English

Hi all, I would appreciate some guidance with regards to options to change my (single language machine) which was bought in china from chinese to english. My understanding is that the only option is the buy a new English windows package. According to windows support, even if I use my old windows laptops product key it would still change to Chinese after activation.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
