I have had this issue on and off for quite a while too. I’ve used several different cords and also use a 2a wall charger. The port is rather loose sometimes, allowing the cord to fall out or just not fit tightly. I am starting to think that the plugs are losing their connections. I had tried a magnetic plug to reduce the wear and tear on the internal hardware; that seemed to work for a while, but then suddenly it stopped working at all. Since then I tried a newer cord and it worked right away. Personally I think it is a failing of many devices and a weak spot for phones and tablets alike, across other brands as well. I’m hoping I don’t have to try and solder a replacement…. my soldering sucks.

If there is a higher quality magnetic system out there, I’d go that way. The one I used (two actually) had gimpy wires that were thin and caused, I think, a bottleneck in the current so that it trickled the charge more like a one amp charger
