I flashed newer version of the Chuwi 14.1 hardware with the new firmware from Chuwi site and now it won’t boot.
I see you can get a bios programmer and volt modder from eBay and fix this.

Would this be the same on a Chuwi 14.1 too? If so which of these winbound chips is the bios? The blue one has w25q64fw written on it so guessing this one.
The guides look ok not too bad,
Guess while it is open I can do the heat sink and SSD mods.
Zero percent chance of getting a free return labels to GearBest.

July 11, 2017 at 10:49 pm #69060wish me luck, I got the parts (including volt modder) and newer bios so going to try this tomorrow. If I don’t come back its because I am sat in the corner crying.
July 11, 2017 at 10:56 pm #69061It’s been so long now since I USB flashed, last one was a Core M3 and then an Atom Z8350. But you need the clip, flasher and a lot of patience.
One tip, try flashing with it unplugged. You have to hear that windows confirmation beep to know it’s connected correctly. pin 1 to pin 1.
That’s the hardest part I found, getting it to flash. First read, erase and blank, then confirm it’s working all 000000’s And finally flash. And if you don’t hear the beep in Windows once you connect it, try with the battery. Some worked with the battery plugged in and others without.
I know this isn’t much help, it’s been too long. Best of luck!
I had so many nightmares like this, which is why if it’s not broke. I don’t flash anything anymore if I can help it!
