    Greetings.

I am new to this forum. I bought a Chuwi Hi10 Pro one month ago. 10 days ago I noticed that in some places on the screen I needed to apply extra force in order to make touch screen work. I downloaded an app which works like mspaint in order to test the touchscreen and I had the following results:

When drawing lines from left to right (and from right to left) the touchscreen works 100%

When drawing random circles around the screen it works 100%

But, when drawing vertical lines there is a dead zone in the centre of the screen(and a little to the right) right below the camera. The dead zone is about 1 or 1,5cm and the problem occurs only when trying to draw vertical line in that area.

I asked a technician’s opinion who told me the obvious, which is faulty digitizer. The strange thing is that next day the problem disappeared and for 7 days the touchscreen was working perfectly. I did nothing to fix it, it disappeared by itself. Yesterday the problem appeared again.

Has anyone ever experienced something like this? I tend to believe that the problem is not the digitizer itself but perhaps there is something else that when it occurs it makes the digitizer behave like this. The problem is tested in android / windows and with or w/out charger on.

I look forward to your replying.

I’ve seen screen issues like flickering or not turning on, disappear after doing a factory wipe and reset. Drastic, but it might be worth a try.

    Reset did not help unfortunately…

OK. Problem was solved by using the lighter igniter trick. Touchscreen works perfectly both in android and windows.
