Brightness should work just minimum brightness is a bit high for indoor / night viewing. Some users install a screen filter app to dim it further:

I’m currently using Remix OS and pretty happy with the brightness control on that ROM.
August 17, 2016 at 7:48 am #47078nope i dont see a difference between minimum and maximum
August 17, 2016 at 7:50 am #47079it doesnt work at all.
August 17, 2016 at 7:55 am #47080That’s strange, if it’s working ok in Windows you might need to reflash Android. I know that sounds a bit extreme but it should be working.
August 17, 2016 at 8:16 am #47083oh crap!
How do i do that?
August 17, 2016 at 6:44 pm #47121The links to firmware and tools are on the Chuwi forum:

Basically you need to download the ROM and the Intel Phone Flash Tool. Also get the flash-no-erase-all.jason file. Extract the archives on a desktop PC. Replace the jason file in the ROM with the one that doesn’t erase Windows, you will choose this from the Phone Flash Tool after installing.
August 18, 2016 at 3:11 am #47171Is this going to install the drivers fine? I heard people flashing their devices will clear their drivers for WiFi etc in the process
August 18, 2016 at 4:13 am #47173Also I just noticed that it doesn’t have auto birghtnes feature like the older chuwi vi10s? This is unacceptable. Why did chris give this tablet such a HIGH score? Its so sluggish when typing and heaps of missed taps because the screen is so high in resolution it struggles to keep up.
August 18, 2016 at 4:55 am #47177I’ve flashed a few times and not had any wifi issues. My reason for flashing was rooting and changing to Remix. I’d recommend the modified Remix uploaded by Carlos in the other thread, which I’m currently running.
The tablet’s not perfect but still the best one I’ve owned to date.
August 18, 2016 at 5:04 am #47178I bought the vi10 last year – it is way better. You can actually do some work – because its fast enough to do so. This seems like a joke of a tabelt. Its hewvgy, sluggish and the inky thug really going for it is the quality of the screen. Doing day to day things just doesn’t cut. Its too slow!
August 18, 2016 at 7:34 am #47192Wow I have so many typos because it’s almost impossible to type on the hi12. What complete and utter piece of shit.
September 4, 2016 at 2:48 pm #48813I agree. This tablet is very slow, it really is. But I have started to live with it. There are so many pros, which make me very happy. I never ever use the touchscreen keyboard, always a 2.4ghz wireless keyboard and mouse. I am happy for the screen, the battery life and its versatility in combination with its price!
