It’s working fine for me, but I have no money in Paypal, there are Capital Controls so I can’t use my debit/credit card, and sending a remittance takes up to 4 working days!

    …so practically lost the 20% coupon…

On the other hand, it still is unclear if this is a Stylus supporting version or not (is only Grey colour Hi12 the “basic” version and are all White-Gold “stylus” versions? dont know) and I would much rather get that version, so spending most of that money is not that much of a good idea…plus, we still don’t have a review and being an early buyer is not always good.
….so I guess the CCs prevented an impulse buy…still great value…

Too bad the site doesn’t have the Cube i7 Stylus…I would buy that with a 20% price-cut any day of the week.

@andrujka, it still is working, you just use it wrong (it took me a 2nd attempt to get it right too) you need to use the code in the first screen of the checkout, just go to your shopping basket and select the coupon option there. I just tried it, and it’s still working at 20percent discount.

It’s not the stylus version, otherwise I would expect it to be noted in the description.

Yes. Core m. Nice. But the current core m tablets from china come close to the price of an asus t300 chi (highres model is sold here sometimes for 599euro) so I would take that over the cube (but again, I don’t need/use a styles, so that’s not on my pro’s/con list

The Cube i7 Stylus also has an SSD at SATA3 speeds…now the combination
    – Core M CPU
    – SSD
    – Stylus
is quite attractive, especially if offered at a 20% discount…unfortunately though, FastTech has a small relatively variety in Tablets.

Agreed, though it is roughly twice as expensive as the HI12. And you should consider that this HI12 has emmc 5.1, which theoretically could boost the read/write speeds to 250/125MB/s (although this is not yet confirmed by real life tests, and i wouldn’t be surprised if it stuck at ~130MB/s read speeds)
Before ordering the HI12, I must admit I also searched fasttech for the cube I7. They do have the teclast X2, but I dislike the square corners. When paying around 400 euro for a chinese tablet, without customs, I would rather invest another 200 euro more and get the asus T300 CHI highres version

How is the Cube i7 Stylus twice the price of Chuwi Hi12?

    • The Chuwi non-stylus version is around 230 euros
    • The Cube i7 Stylus is 330 euros per average (Geekbuying has it at that price including the Stylus)

I really doubt an eMMC 5.1 can compete with SSDs in reliability and performance.

My Teclast x98 Plus has an eMMC 5.0 Samsung drive and the write speeds in the sequential test are barely 40mb/s…that is the same speed of a 4.5.0 Hynix I had one and a half year ago…I don’t think the “jump” to significantly better performance practically will be made with eMMC 5.1

What is more, I would never buy anything close or above 300 euros, without it having a SSD drive and adequate CPU power for me to put my laptop at rest for most of daily usage….
…i.e. I would not throw more than 300 euros at the Chinese market (warranty risk) and would not pay generally more than that for a tablet.

…and with the Cube i7 you get an SSD and a Core M not at 500euros but at 330 with a stylus and if coupons are considered, almost exactly 300 euros….I don’t think this value can be beaten.

I would have bought it already (would have never bought my x98 Plus) if it wasn’t for that 16:9 screen…too narrow for my office tasks at 10.6 inches.

Don’t feel too offended, please. I’m not looking for a debate (please contact me by PM if you want to discuss this further) Just bought the HI12 for roughly 180 euro, I7 is 325 (excl. customs) and it includes a windows that doesn’t support my native language.. the HI12 comes with Sweden Post, so I should by covered for customs. (so roughly 2x the price.  2x 180 is 360)

I know it doesn’t jump to significant better  with emmc 5.1, i just pointed out to you that this is feature of the HI12, it’s not the ‘worst’ emmc for that matter. I’m curious about the HI12, not about the cube I7, for several reasons. (no full sized USB, too small screen, too low resolution) I think ~180 euro for a 12″ hi12 is a very nice price, 330 euro for an I7 is too much at this point. If a HI12 pro with a z8500 was available for 20-25 euro more, i would have picked that.

I’m using it in-field for tweaking quadcopters, measuring/calibrating speakers, and i’m currently looking for a new PC for my CNC and CAD/CAM. 180 euro is enough, allthough i COULD have bought a more expensive one, it simple doesn’t make me more happy. You might have got your reasons not to buy it, but i’ve got mine. Also into buying a PC with M.2 ultra (which is doing roughly 2000MB/s as you probably know, with an SM951 ssd) Z170 motherboard and some other goodies to make it a rather fast PC, and a high res new screen as well.
That tablet is a tablet for me, No substitute for a PC/Laptop. I hope it’s a tad faster than the x98 plus though.

I don’t understand how you took offense or thought I was offended.

You just made an argument that is most visibly wrong, i.e. that the Cube i7 is twice as expensive….if you are going to compare products, you should not compare discounted with full prices…you should compare discounted price for both items.

…e.g. I have 5000points at Banggood and I can get the corresponding discount for either of them, but I am not comparing the discounted price of one against the full price of the other; it doesn’t make sense….I would be comparing a 280euros SSD+Core M processor with a 230euros Atom+eMMC and the conclusion would be quite manipulated.

You should also read your interlocutors responses more carefully, because I wrote that the Screen Ratio of the Cube i7 is almost a deal breaker for me…

…by that I mean that I am not arguing in favor of the Cube/against the Chuwi Hi12 (I would actually lean more towards the Chuwi because I do more office tasks)… I am looking at the products objectively i.e. their specifications

….considering that each tablets brings forth in specifications, the Cube packs quite a punch for the added cost, enough to upgrade the user experience…but to me paying over 250 euros and around 300 euros for a tablet is my top-top ceiling, I would not do so under most circumstances (one can buy 14-15 inch Lenovo Thinkpads in that price range at ebay)

Never spend more than 160euros for a tablet thus far, exactly because it cannot be a pc replacement…would only pay a premium if at least I got to do very well many things I do on my pc.

…my experience thus far is that a tablet cannot break the “entertainment” barrier (little video, browsing music) unless it has an SSD and a more capable CPU.

In conclusion, however one uses the tablet, objectively one cannot fail to recognize that the closest a “buyable” (cheap enough, well enough performing) chinese tablet has gotten to these higher standards is the Cube i7…

…it’s not for everybody, sure, but if the initial price drops around 300€ and the discounted price around 260-270€, then it would be a tough sell to spend 200+ euros on any Atom + eMMC tablet…

If Chuwi Hi12’s normal price was around 180€, then it would maintain its competitive edge for the price-conscious consumer…at 200€+ I personally have doubts..the screen is good, but everything else stays the same as in the 150€ price range (in fact performance may suffer in battery autonomy or even smooth operation in OS) .

(now the 20% discount on the Chuwi is no longer available, while FastTEch only offers 6 months free warranty instead of 12 months like Banggood or Gearbest do, which chips away at the VFM to some degree)

Since this thread is back up (I couldn’t see it) let me say that I used that code and got the tablet for $216 two days ago. A bunch of people were saying it no longer worked for the last few days. Wish I had gotten $202 though… I also wish more people had it to review.

Yup. I got “we were about to ship out is actually not ready for ship because we had mistaken the stock in the system.” Pretty sure its BS that they didn’t know about their stock.

    Just got an email:

Order Shipped “Shipped via Singapore Post. *tracking results may not be displayed until 24 to 48 hours later.” Hopefully it actually did ship and this isn’t just them marking it as so.

Any updates on accessories for this item? I would like to buy a case and screen protector.
