    Hi,

I’ve had the Hi8 for a week or so now – not had a great deal of time to play with it but did manage to corrupt the windows os so had to download the Win10 image and restore…I followed the guide and installed all the drivers but I am having some real problems with the Bluetooth keyboard (from bangood – with the case etc).

I can pair the 2 devices but the keyboard is very laggy, drops connection and then sometimes recongises multiple key presses when only pressed once.  Same problem with a generic Bluetooth keyboard…Both keyboards work fine in android so I am thinking that it is a driver problem..

Anyone had a similar experience or can point me in the right direction of a fix…

    Thanks in advance

hi, i know this might sound like a dumb suggestion, but have you tryed reinstalling the BT driver?

Yes – I’ve reinstalled the drivers using the double driver exe and the zipped backup. Still the same problem with the sticky / repeating keys on a single key press…

As an aside I bought a micro usb otg cable so that I could both charge the tablet and plug in a usb device – device is recognised by it doesn’t charge the tablet… Assume some sort of compatibility issue although I did purchase a ‘generic’ otg. Any recommendations to purchase one that will both charge and recognise a usb device – preferably a uk based seller

    Hi Clive,

I had some issues with the drivers for the Chuwi Hi8 also. My main issue was for the touch screen though. No matter how many times, or different ways, i reinstalled them the touchscreen was always off.

I had to reinstall using the Chuwi Hi8 Windows 8.1 package and follow the translated Chinese installation Guide. You need two thumb drives and a keyboard hooked up to an OTG cable for the process though.

After that I upgraded to Windows 10 and all worked again.

The Guide and the original Windows 8.1 image are provided on this site by Chris 🙂 :

As for the OTG cable I use this one:

It charges and allows OTG functionality at the same time for me. I believe you need to use position 2 for it.

I bought Chuwi hi8 a few weeks ago. In my case, everytime I tried to use both keyboard and mouse with bluetooth at the same time, I had the same problem – repeating keys on a single press. Now, I pair just a bluetooth device to use the tablet properly. It made me buy a USB hub (working on Windows only).
