hi guys, I tried to download the windows 10 img from your google drive folder and it tells me too that it is corrupted, can you upload it an other time?

In the meanwhile i installed the 32bit version downloaded with microsoft update tool but the touch is completely out of calibration and from the task manager I see there are a lot of side services running which take a lot of ram space and cpu, more than previous windows 8.1, am I the only one who noticed that?

Sorry guys but I did not understand a thing. the tablet will automatically upgrade to Windows 10 through Windows Update or not and you have to resort to unofficial methods? also in all forums to talk about the upgrade to Android technology lollipop. Since there is an app on Android that controls  How to proceed?

the automatic windows update shouldnìt work with windows 8.1 with bing bong because its not a normal windows version but a compressed one, which means that the standard windows update will not work, to update you should remove all the os. I don’t know why someone said that they had the invitation for the update from the system.

my chuwi is stuck on setting 66%, great, fuck it.

So in other words, how to proceed? And you need to download? Android instead?

I managed to solve it by deleting all previous file and running a new installation, It worked starting windows again by bios. anyway I don’t know how much convenient it is, The all new fancy features eat a lot of ram.. before without anything opened ram utilization was below 40% now is never under 60%.. maybe is only a way to speed up the reactivity, dunno.

Using WinRAR was the fix to install issues I had. Other RAR extractors kept giving errors. I now have Windows 10 on my device, however I can’t get it activated using the steps detailed in the instructions.

guys help. I’m downloading Windows 10 on my Chuwi through the tool “Windows 10 media creation tool”, okay? What do you advise me to do once downloaded? I first have to reset everything? I have to make up something? After installing I have to do some special operation?

How do I get back into Android after installing Windows 10? I have Insyde on the device, but it doesn’t seem to do anything.

**Found it — there’s an install in the downloads area that worked.

After having so many problems trying to install windows 10 I did some digging and by  the looks of things this version of windows is not genuine as the license key is normally used for temporary installs and it needs to use a unofficial KMS service to activate it. I don’t think it will stay activated as future updates are released.

So I’m just going to reinstall Windows 8.1 from the files i downloaded of Chuwi’s website and start again to get to Windows 10

Ok I now have another problem. I’m trying to reinstall Windows 8 using the two .rar files and I’m getting an error message. “Install.wim NOT found” (please see attached image). I’ve formatted USB1 to Fat32 and USB2 to NTFS, loaded the files correctly and it still won’t install.

I don’t know if this is because I’ve removed the Android partition and if so I can’t understand how to reset the Bios to get the partitions back to how they were as the english translation of the BIOS document don’t make sense. I can get into the EFI shell but the ‘down’ arrow does nothing.

If anyone can help I would be really grateful.

Why can’t I just use the windows 10 reserve notification to upgrade? Please answe me!

    @jose

You can install with reserve notification, it’s even easier. you can possibly have 3 problems:

    1. You might not have enough space so you’ll need a SD card or external USB storage to download Windows 10.
    2. Touch might not be calibrated so you’ll need an external USB mouse and keyboard for initial Windows setup and to install Chuwi Hi8 touch driver (needs reboot).
    3. If you choose clean install like me you’ll need to download a program called Insyde_Q2S to restore dual boot.

That is how I installed. but I did not wait to Windows notification, I just went to Windows 10 download page.

because I made an upgrade my Windows 10 was preactivated.

@Joseph Gregory I too learnt that this method of activating windows 10 is unreliable after installing it, but I couldn’t even get to activate it using this method as there was an KMS error. Did you manage to activate it the past day?

I think install.wim should be in your USB2(the NTFS one), did you check if your have it in there?

I tried reinstalling win8.1 too but facing “fail to make w:\recycler\scratch directory” error.  would appreciate if  anyone could advise how to get past this issue.
