I upgraded the system to win 10 and firmware to S165C but the touch only works at random in both windows in Android.

There would be a fix !?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LFmEtvpKlKE Secondly, when updating to windows 10 It had problems migrating data (accounts, apps etc) So I tried again without keeping anything and it updated fine and kept all the drivers. It even kept the touch driver, however touch wasn’t working. So when I went to the desktop I went into device manager and the new touch driver is there. So all I did was copy the icnfirmware.sys file to C:\Windows\System32\Drivers then rebooted and everything is working. You will also need to re-setup the Dual OS Switcher app again, in the same way as before. Thirdly, Find the guide attached with download links:

Was just about to post for help when i figured it out.

Thanks Phillip, i was in the same boat as steve, i went ahead and installed the blur fix without realising i didnt need it and it broke the touchscreen in Android.

I could not for the life of me find a harware id in device manager for the SOC so i just used the value mentioned in the guide.
It took me a couple of turns to realise i had to check device manager and grab the android id when i got to the same screen felix was stuck on.
A quick change to the settings in MFT and start the entire proceedure again came up trumps.

All in all it turned out well, now i can load up all the android games i have amassed through humble bundle and have a bit of fun.

I’m not sure my issue was the same as your issue.

I installed the blur fix for android and it stopped my touchscreen from working.

My touchscreen still worked fine in windows 8 but the blur fix had broken something in android.

I only reinstalled android and that is as far as i went, because at the moment i have no intention of upgrading to windows 10.

Windows 8 does what i need it to do so there is no real need (aside from hype) for me to upgrade.

I tried to do it without the android part, but I stuck at this:

Making directories…

The system cannot find the drive specified.

“Failed to make w:\recycler\scratch directory”

An error has been detected.

If anyone has the same problem as felix while following the guide, when the tablet goes in to DMX mode, go in to device manager and check the HID of the android device (right click android device, properties, details tab, hardware ID), write it down, disconnect the tablet from the pc, power the tablet down, change the setting in MFT software, click apply, close the software and start the whole proceedure again.

 

If you are installing the windows software as well, remember to put the image files inside a folder called images on the 2nd usb stick or you get this error (“Fail to make w:\recycler\scratch directory”) and have to start from the beginning (install android again).

 

It was frustrating but my tablet is now up and running with both android and windows working.

Is any software available for backup the current windows 8.1 in chuwi vi10 pro 64G tablet before upgrade to windows 10?

Hi, I have the same problem as majority, I loose touch after upgrading to win10. I do not make any backup with DD, or any other like Acronis True Image, and I can’t restore any of DD backups in the downloads site of this site.

I tried to change the bios, 2 diferent versions older than mine, my tablet had the newest, but no succes. I also tried to restore USB1 USB2, but the same problema as Murp describes “Fail to make….”

I installed both windows, first 8.1, and doesn’t accept drivers restore. Every time I tried to use DD backup, the system hangs. With windows 10, (I used the Chuwi image) it works almost the majority of devices, except of I2c HID and other unknown device.

Actually, my win10 works, as a notebook without touch screen. My android, at least, works fine, and I can use it as a tablet.

Any other mate had the touch problem resolt?

Hi hopefully one of you can help. I used the guide to reinstall everything on my VI10 but I seem to have a strange issue that I cant get my head around.

When I flash android it deletes my windows installation which is fine but when I try to install the windows image it deletes my android partitions so I don’t seem to be able to get both OS live at once! I’m guessing I need to do something with the startnet file or somehow separate the android partition in diskpart but I’m by no means an expert.

Also I’ve just discovered that if I leave the windows running, as soon as I reboot the device I lose all the drivers anyway so it is basically useless for windows!
