I wonder why, despite I’ve reset and flashed the iWork8 BIOS more then once, the current day date of the BIOS is displayed correctly. It shouldn’t, after a reset…
Since I’m having big trouble with the internal SD card reader (http://techtablets.com/forum/topic/android-reads-tf-card-windows-10-does-not-see-it/) I start to think it could be something wrong with the BIOS settings, since the hardware itself seems to be working (I can read any SD card on Android and an old 2GB SD card on Windows, but I can’t read a 32gb Toshiba SD card that worked perfectly until two days ago).
Windows itself label the issue as a driver malfunction, but uninstall and reinstall the driver won’t help, neither a clean Windows 10 install fixes this.
So, noticing the BIOS settings remains the same even after a flash/reset, and knowing the SD issue seems to be provoked somehow by switching from Android to Windows (and viceversa) too many times (http://techtablets.com/forum/topic/micro-sd-issue/page/4/#post-47694) and knowing the driver malfunction can’t be solved even flashing the original Windows partition (from here http://www.cube-tablet.com/download/) I wonder if this issue could be originated by a wrong setting/parameter in the BIOS that, perhaps, is overwritten every time you switch form an O.S. to the other to the point that, with time, that setting will stuck in the BIOS memory and can’t be reverted to the factory setting, no matter what.
I’d like to test this theory, but how can anyone try to clear the CMOS on the tablet? I know how to that on a standard PC desktop motherboard, but is it even possible to do that on an iWork tablet?
