    Yes, I’ve done it a few times to install programmes.

    No problem, as a mater of fact this is how I was able to write an emergency recovery boot CD.

    Yes it works, I have an external USB 3.0 and works very well, but if it is as mine, with only an USB wire connection and no extra power port it will need a powered usb hub to work. Hi12 has not enough usb power to feed dvd drive by itself. No problem with any pen drive or 2.5 har drive yet.
