January 4, 2018 at 5:53 am #76421Hi Benares,
how can we solve this vulnerability?
January 4, 2018 at 8:16 am #76426It’s a serious security issue . I would expect to see updates & patches being pushed out by Intel, see below …

January 4, 2018 at 10:11 am #76429Nothing we can do, performace will suffer sadly
January 4, 2018 at 6:28 pm #76447Based on the Infos from Intel in the first link in this thread, the system manufacturer (Jumper) needs to come up with a modified update in order to fix the problem. So we can only hope to see an update from Jumper.
There will be no generic update directly from Intel.
January 5, 2018 at 8:06 pm #76530So now they have names “Spectre & Meltdown” … which is what’s happening with Intel stock at the moment.
Intel News Release – 4 JAN 2018
Intel – Impact on Performance – 4 JAN 2018
when Intel, Apple, Google, Amazon & Microsoft come out in unison saying there will be no noticeable impact on performance after patching these flaws, it sounds like damage limitation to me, only time will tell. In the meantime I still love my Jumper, it’s performing like a champ
.
January 5, 2018 at 9:07 pm #76533I’ve not performed a before and after benchmark on my Jumper yet, but on my Onda 21 (of very similar spec), the performance difference is negligible according to Passmark.
It seems the impact is on 4k file read speed mainly, which is more likely to impact on servers reading small pieces of data from databases etc.
