I realised why some “HDMI” docks don’t work.

HDMI isn’t the carrier signal from the USB connector. There’s a few different standards for this; Displayport, Thunderbolt & MHL

The Dell WD15 dock uses Displayport to do video out and then converts that signal to HDMI.

The Cube i7 book has Thunderbolt as a option in the BIOS.

The video out from USB-C, I assume is Thunderbolt over USB type-C.

Dell has another Thunderbolt 3.0 dock (TB15). I would guess that this would work.

That’s interesting. Intel’s page for the 6y30 mentions eDP, DP, HDMI and DVI output formats, nothing about thunderbolt. Isn’t thunderbolt itself just a carrier for a DP signal?
