Hey everyone,
tldr:
what is the exact default speed for the i35 ram? My xtu seems to be confused and shows 1600 MHZ and 12x (memory multiplier) as default values. It should be 1867 (1866.667) and 14x, correct? Could you please check your xtu-settings and see what is the default in your case (and what is the “activated” value)? Thanks in advance!
long version:
my i35 (or more precisely xtu) is giving me some trouble. I’ve been working on the exact undervolting numbers for my cpu the last few days and after the last 4 hour stress test failed I realized there was something not quite right with the numbers intel was showing me in xtu.I suppose the failed stress test made xtu change the values to the default settings and somehow the memory speed values got mixed up in all of this. I did not change anything but cpu and gpu values (Turbo Boost Power Max, Turbo Boost Power Short Power Max, CPU- and GPU- voltage).
xtu was highlighting the memory speed value in yellow, but both the default and “proposed” were set on: 1600MHZ. As I said, I had not changed anything in the memory settings. All the other memory values (default and proposed) matched perfectly. After some clicking and checking the highlighting went away, but I realized there seems to be some kind of a bug in xtu (I suppose it is by design, since proposed and activated are not the same thing?). The shown values sometimes don’t match the actually activated ones. Right now it looks like on the attached screenshot. Even though it shows 12x in both columns for “memory multiplier”, the activated value is 14x (making the memory speed 1867MHZ, as correctly shown by xtu) When I hover over the Memory Multiplier setting in the Memory options, the appearing window shows: Default: 12.00; Activated: 14.00, Proposed: 12.00
My question is, I guess, is this ok? Do I need to change anything? The “actual” default ram speed should be 1867MHZ, correct? So as long as mine is set to that, everything is fine? Are your xtu-values the same?
Thanks in advance!
