Thought I’d share this with everyone. You can disable the Chinese text at the beginning, by going into the BIOS (tap Delete on your keyboard a bunch when booting up).
Under the Boot menu, there should be an option for Quiet Boot. Disable that, and you should be presented with an American Megatrends BIOS boot, instead of the Chinese lettering.
Why do this? Because it will make your computer feel more “Your Own” :D.
I see, they’ve changed the boot image for Mix Plus then… maybe it is the model name in Chinese, and the file may be a remnant from older version’s disk image. Attached image is the logo2.bmp from System32 directory, it’s the same Kanji (I don’t know the term is correct, so pardon me if I’m mistaken) as the boot image for i7 Book. Editing or deleting this file will not most probably change the boot image, but it may be a reference for a custom one assuing that it’s the same bmp embedded in the bios. BTW, it’s 120 x 120 x 24 bpp.
