Hi I installed an SSD, did a fresh Win10 install using the meda creation tool and I’m now running the creators update with no issues – version 1709 OS build 16299.19 (I am signed up to the insiders program on the slow ring). Done all the updates over the last 3 weeks since the fresh install with no issues.
October 18, 2017 at 10:18 am #73615Damn, I am very upset because I had to do ‘reset my pc’ and now it’s back but various things aren’t working, such as opening windows update from the start menu.
Would it be possible for you to send me the driver for your track-pad? Mine is misbehaving…
Thanks,
Jake
October 18, 2017 at 6:20 pm #73624I just installed it 30 minutes ago, I’m using it now. Updated to the local drive and no problems. By any chance, did you have auto updates running and all updates installed prior to the update?
October 18, 2017 at 8:39 pm #73628Why the rush? I always wait 2 months before updating non security stuff.

Did you start from a fresh install? I am thinking maybe it has to do with non-fresh installs…
I’ve now fone a fresh install from media creation tool and all back up and running. Thankfully my touchpad is working again as well.
October 19, 2017 at 7:58 am #73638I have the v4 and updated to the Windows Fall Creators Update just fine yesterday (it’s now Version 1709, OS Build 16299.19).
Was not a fresh install.
I just used the update service from the Official Site:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/software-download/windows10
Everything works fine for me. You just need to leave the laptop for a while to update itself as it reboots several times during the update process.
October 19, 2017 at 10:07 am #73644Too late for me, I think.
I got the EZB3P on Tuesday, and last night (the next day) I noticed that Windows Updates wouldn’t work, and the service was disabled in the Services control panel, I re-enabled it, let it do the update (took maybe half an hour plus, I am still running the standard Samsung eMMC, albeit at “400” speed). It rebooted successfully, so maybe I got lucky?

Seems to be normal that the updates service is disabled, not sure why.
Didn’t have any problems updating mine. Although it certainly took a lot longer than 30mins.
October 20, 2017 at 2:47 am #73672Have finally fixed all my issues – one thing I had to change the audio mode in the BIOS, whatever the default mode was I had no audio support even with drivers from the downloads section- now everything is working.

October 21, 2017 at 1:29 pm #73733I just finished trying to update to 1709 using the standard method from the Microsoft website. Things seemed to be going well on my Ezbook 3 pro v4 so I left it alone for awhile. About 6 hours later I checked back and the blue power light was still on but nothing else was working.
I had to press on the power key until it shut down and then of course I wondered if it would boot again. Luckily it did, but of course 1709 was not installed and I was back where I started. I’m going to try a few things before I do it again. Dos anyone know how to check a log file for the error that the update must have encountered before it gave up? Or do such log files exist only for Microsoft?
October 22, 2017 at 4:46 am #73765Ok well it finally worked. I noticed that with the default install on my ezbook after I enabled updates in services one update did not install properly. So on a hunch, I reset the 1703 Windows install that came with the machine.
Afterwards, I would not let 1703 update and proceeded to do the standard online Microsoft download and install of 1709. It took a very long time even though I had the power set to unlimited in the bios and my ezbook was getting quite hot, about three hours or so. But it installed. Finally. What makes the ezbook 3 pro so hard to update? Is this the reason why Jumper disables updating of Windows 10 by default?
