What keyboard do you recommend? Friend of mine eyeing the Tbook 10 for portability.
August 3, 2016 at 6:46 am #45417Hmm, was about to pull the trigger…
Pinky, are you able to elaborate more on the issue? Thanks.
August 3, 2016 at 12:02 pm #45450I am not Pinky, but i can tell you as well:
- MicroSD card issuies – not working in windows 10 at all (code 10 error), partially working in Android (MicroSD mounts and unmounts by itself)
- Uncallibrated battery – it takes half an hour from 100 to 21, than near FOUR hours at 21 percent and than something like ten minutes from 21 to 0
- WiFi signal issues – antenna was not soldered properly, had to re-solder it by myself
- Internal memory issues – didn’t figured the culprit yet, however from time to time tablet no longer boots in any OS, the only thing that helps – full reinstall following this recommendations: http://techtablets.com/forum/topic/install-windows-android-in-tbook10-by-oddillio-labs-contact-tstoddillio-com/
- Very poor speakers quality – put your phone into the bucket and turn on some music as loud as you can, you will get roughly the tBook 10 sound quality
- No android updates at all – the only thing you’ll get trying to update is “Can’t connect to server” error
- Strange static noise issue – even if your volume is 0, when Android\Windows is playing any sound, speakers will play some irritating static noise
- Almost unbearebly bad stylus – it is cheap, it is bad, it is not working in Android
August 3, 2016 at 12:21 pm #45454top post by nikita… i knew as soon as i got this tablet and keyboard on friday it was a wrong’ern….. spend a couple of hours reinstalling firmware is something you should not have to do on a new tablet… then just keep running into prob after prob… speakers are the worst things i have ever had on a tablet…. plus…. its supposed to feel like a quality tablet… just feels heavy and clunky…. and keyboard feels cheap.
im now waiting for the new shield tablet to be released…
August 3, 2016 at 12:32 pm #45456Shield, unfortunately, is ARM-only tablet, so no Windows or Dual Boot. And its screen would be 8 inch only, which is not good as all. But even with ARM CPU and 8 inch screen it would be much better than this…tablet
August 3, 2016 at 2:19 pm #45471yep… arm…. but better to be master of one than none at all….. plenty of power… 4k streaming….. and works…. shortage on market now.. so new one must be in pipeline…. the price of the Chinese toys can be attractive…. and even one or two are learning about customer care….. but you get what you payfor….. after all the faffing about and frustration… me like many are looking elsewhere….. and i say this with experience of Chinese products over the last 3-4 years…. worst of all…pipo.
August 3, 2016 at 2:52 pm #45475I’ve only experienced Cube – camera just stopped working after two days of use, tablet was lagging as hell, visual glitches all over the screen and dying battery after three month of use and teclast – this tablet. So i would agree with you, chinese tablets are too risky
August 3, 2016 at 3:29 pm #45479Thanks…
Guess I give this a miss and go for the i7 stylus.August 3, 2016 at 3:53 pm #45481Please post a review for i7S after getting it. Thinking about this tablet for my GF
August 5, 2016 at 12:44 pm #45708it seems the more you look at the chinese “value” range of tablets… and especially the likes of the cube iwork 10…. that seems to have a host of problems… but people are still saying its value (which i dont get )…. i think you got to consider yourself lucky if you find one that does the job for a while at least…. and dont be surprised if it fails sooner than latter…. and they have you by the nuts as far as returns go…. i purchased the tbook 10…. spent 6 hours in total ish…. returned… and that cost me £22 +hours in labour… wish i could bill them…. feel like a beta tester….
August 10, 2016 at 6:09 pm #46351YMMV, i have this tablet and have experienced NONE of the problems mentioned ( apart from speakers, but that’s a Windows drivers problem, since in Android, speakers work fine ) You may have had a bad batch or defective unit, that’s all. SD card try getting a branded card, not a cheap one. I have a 128gb Samsung in and no problems.
