So, answering this to myself:
- I’ve not managed to get the RemixOS Player working. It keeps crashing at start with an qemu error
- Dual-booting with RemixOS DOES WORK. I just tested it with an USB-Stick and after a succesfull boot from this I created an extra partition with 14 GB on the main drive. The RemixOS installer automatically installs a loader / bootmenu on this partition, so you then can choose after turning the tablet on, if you want to boot into RemixOS / Android or into windows.
Android 6.0 works, but with some glitches; the performance is not quite up to par with windows and it seems that the power-management of the chipset/CPU is not fully supported, so the tablet gets quite hot here. Also, Wifi is not working after a wake up from sleep, you have to reboot to turn it on again. Maybe those issues get fixed in later RemixOS-releases.
Google Playstore and most other things seem to be working (i’m no Android-expert, been using iOS since the beginning). I’m writing this text with Chrome under Android 6.0 with an attached USB keyboard.
March 17, 2017 at 9:29 am #63572I have managed to get the remix os player to run. I had to update the Intel HAXM thing. But the resolution doesn’t fit. I can’t get it higher than 720p and the cursor isn’t synchronised to where my finger is on the screen.
March 19, 2017 at 11:02 pm #63708I currently use AmiDuos as Emulation and this Works very well here. It costs 14€, but I think it is worth it.
March 29, 2017 at 11:29 am #64188I’m sorry but it’s not clear which version of Remix you installed and if you managed to run Android 6.0 from a separate install or you’re running it as the version your Remix is based on. Could you please clarify?
Also, how did you create the partition on the main drive inside Remix?
I purchased this on GB’s 3rd anniversary sale a few days back intent on making either Remix 3.0 or Android 6.0 run on this, since I’ve seen that emulation is not running as smoothly. I’m quite excited at the prospect of a working dual boot between Windows and Android/Remix on this device
April 3, 2017 at 3:04 pm #64534You don’t really need to have an own Partition for Remix – I just created one for safeness.
Installing Remix on the Cube Mix Plus is in fact as easy as simply running the installer. After that you’ll get a boot-loader to select between Remix/Android and Windows. There are just two annoying Things:
- The PowerManagement of the Core-m is not really supported in Remix/Android 6 which leads to a hot device and shorter battery time than necessary.
- You need a connected USB-Keyboard (obviously) to select the OS at boot time which i found very annoying. To make things worse, the boot-loader Defaults to Android, which is the System I use only seldom (I’m quite sure this would not be that hard to Change, though).
In any case, i deinstalled Remix – and this as well is as easy as simply runninge the uninstaller and the boot-loader and Remix is gone – because I can live with the Performance of AmiDuOS, which is working well here and more than sufficient for those few times I want to have Android on the device.
April 4, 2017 at 1:44 am #64559I just try to install Remix OS on my card 32GB, the screen is good, but 3D dont run (maybe driver not full) so I have about 100000 antutu benchmark and the battery not stable. Windows 10 is the bestest until now.

I managed to get Remix OS working but it suffers enough to not be usable. I can’t get Amiduos to boot. It will just hang on the splash screen – I’ve read through all the troubleshooting procedures but I can’t get passed this problem. Bluestacks has offered the best experience so far but lags with more demanding games. The Tencent emulator worked very well initially then a few days later started to lag and become unusable – I have no idea why this happened.
@joachim what version of Amiduos are you using?
April 8, 2017 at 3:57 am #64873The Cube Mix Plus is not Android fully support from the Cube site, because no drivers for hardware
I install Ubuntu Gnome 16.04, CPU management OK, because Kaby Lake supported by the kernel but No Camera, No Mic, No Rotation
I have installed macOS Sierra too, power management OK but no hardware prepherals
All Linux variant kernel will be the same
BTW anyone has issue with backlight bleed? I have a small bleed in the right edge, look clearly in the dark movie
April 9, 2017 at 5:55 pm #64961I use the “Pro” Version of AmiDuOS directly from the Homepage.
3D Performance is limited, but still AmiDuOS is quite a bit better than all other emulators I’v tried.
April 9, 2017 at 5:57 pm #64962virgo: I think, a little bit of backlight bleed is to be expected in this price segment. Hell, even my expensive Apple Cinema Display has a slight bit of this.

Thank you. Yet people say they have same issue with iPad but as I’ve just received it at 18th Mar so I ask my reseller to request a replacement and he got an acceptance email from Cube China, he will send it back tomorrow. Hope the replacement one is better. My several laptops IPS screen not expose such bleeding
To be honest I don’t know what is it the error with the screen at first. I was given a laptop since 1995, I sometimes heard about bleed but I’ve never seen this until my Mix Plus arrive.
