external sd access problem on android

as  in title I am having some  issues accessing external sd card on android.

to be more precise, I can easily access files on it with solid explorer, but one of my favourite app, ttorrent, can’t allow me to send torrent directly to sd card.

when it ask me to grant access to sd card, it shows a strange message, about only writing permission, and doesn’t make me choose it.

is it  a matter of root access or what?

Same problem with an other app… will root access solve my issue?

Is it the first Chinese tablet that comes not rooted from factory??? Grrr…
