Hey everyone,
So after spending an entire day downloading the 500MB parts of the VI10 windows image.. Upon trying to extract the .rar files I was getting errors left, right and centre from 7zip things like ‘Headers Errors’. Is this due to a failed download?
Also what do I do with the extracted files once they unpack? Put them on two separate memory sticks? Do they need formatting as Fat32 or NTFS? How do I execute the re-imaging process etc? Do I follow the same instructions that are already in Chinese?
I know some people had issues with the single image file but is there somewhere I can download the Windows 8.1 image as a single file without having to download fragments?
Basically I struggled to install Windows 10 over the top of Windows 8.1 so I installed W10 Home over the top of my C: partition and overwrote everything which worked. Got all the drivers reinstalled and everything worked wonderfully.. except activation. Microsoft Support were totally unhelpful saying I had to reinstall W8.1 and THEN upgrade to W10 saying that I could just be giving them a legit key for a different machine despite explaining to them that I had Windows 8.1 Bing preinstalled on my Chuwi and offered the 20 and 25 digit activation keys..
