Ezbook 3 Pro fresh SO install

hi buddy, ordered my Ezbook 3 pro from gear best, waiting for them to deliver to me, also wanted to ask fellow folks here this questions too, is there a website or link where i can get all the drivers for Ezbook 3 pro version 4?

i think you can use windows 10 to resett all softwars. or use a windows 10 factory resett software.

i am not sure but i think this is better than a full neu install because of the driver

So you are basically saying that it’s better to remove the chinese softwares one by one manually from Windows?

yes, use CCleaner or software that clean windows full, i think windows itself has this option to resett it komplettly from all softwares

Hey guys, great choice in buying the EZ book 3 pro, I have rev3 and I’m using it as a daily driver for studies and as a travel laptop (currently travelling through europe) and this laptop has been great to use, it completely surpassed my expectations especially considering I downsized for travelling coming from a dell XPS 9550.

Now for the reinstalling, when I received my model it had pretty much 0 bloatware except for an “advanced calendar” which was easy to remove. I personally performed a clean install and I did see an improvement on battery life of about an hour, nothing else changed so if you are comfortable I definitely would recommend doing so otherwise you will still be sweet as. There are definitely some extra tweaks you should do which makes using the ezbook 3 a lot nicer, this would include instlalling the synaptics touchpad driver http://drivers.synaptics.com/Synaptics_v19_0_19_1__C__x86-x64__Win10__Signed__MS_Win10_UXUI_PS2_SMbus.zip and following most steps on the pinned ‘improve touchpad’ post to drastically improve accuracy and 2-finger scrolling (I would also change resolution scaling from %150 to %125 or even %100 for better perceived mouse accuracy)

I would also recommend downloading the russian drivers which you can find pinned as well, they have the correct i/o drivers. and then of course using the programme which increases the TDW from 6w to 10w which really gives a big performance boost on every app but seeing as you ordered REV4 I think you can just permanently apply the fix in the bios.

Enjoy the jumper guys, you will be pleasantly surprised on how this $220 laptop holds out!

I used windows rest from Windows recovery, and I ended up with the blue screen of death and now I’m stuck there, going to try and do a fresh install 🙁

Same here and others had the same issue after trying to do a factory reset from windows:
The system gets in an permanent loop of booting and blue screen.

Only solution: new installation but that needs a lot more steps due to MS $ problems I describe below.

create a windows 10 USB boot stick with media creation tool

put the stick in your machine and boot but start pressing f7 while booting until you see a blue white menu

From here it might get better – but my system did not install thetouchpad and I could not get it working.
So I decided to everything again and to try to  add another lanuage than english cause the media creation tool had a warning when I tried that in the  first run that you need a key. So, if you are in the “second run” of creating that USB stick you will run into this problem:

If you get an error from the media creation tool with a 0x80072f76-20017 error message then you have a lot trouble to find a solution.

MS seems to not like that you have already created a media and now want to do it againg. It took me 2 or 3 hours to get the media creation tool back running again to create another media / USB stick.

I changed the internet provider and connected the EZBOOK to my mobile phone which worked as a hotspot to get a different ISP for the media creation tool that you start when connected to mobile phone hotspot. Then you will  wait a minute until the EULA agreement appears.

If you get that EULA agreement you have fixed it for the moment and you can switch back to your DSL Router.
The system will work in 2  steps downloading a kind of image and creating a bootable USB stick which took about 1 or 2 hours depending on your speed.
You need an USB stick with at least 8 GB or more if you later wanna add specific drivers.

In the second installation whhich was a german one the touchpad suddenly began to work and the german windows did not need any further licence.
The whole media creation and installation took more than 3 or 4 hours … not counting the media tool creation bug above …

If you did all that  stuff  you will get the old mistake that update processes are not running an EZBOOK desease in my opinion you can get ridd off.
If you go into the windows update section you will get the error 0x80240442

To get ridd of that
★ Start button “service.ms” + ENTER
★ in the appearing services window look for “Win Update”
★ now you have to click on that “Windows Update” item with a right mouse click, then choose “properties”
★ in the appearing window change start type to “automatic”
★ and then a bit below change service status by clicking or moving on “start / run”

Your system will begin to update – a few times and reboot, but far less than the complete  long way from a “factory windows” to creators update.

And finally you need a lot of drivers which you can find for the V3 and V4 modells here in the download section.
To avoid any trouble follow this advice:

1. download the drivers from download section
2. copy that folder with all folders files to your EZBook 3 Pro
3. now click on start and type “device manager” or select that when appearing with enter.
4. then start to right click one after the other drivers with error sign and choose “update driver”
5. in the following windows choose the second option “search on computer for drivers”
6. and now you have to select the “top level” folder of your previously under point 2. copied update folder and check subfolder
7. then you press NEXT
8. now the right driver will be searched in all the subfolders and the right one will be updated.
9. If that is done got back to point 4. and continue updating the next driver with error signs.

Be patient cause this is by far the fastest way to get a brandnew full running and up to date system. Steps from 4 to 9 are done in seconds and I hadabout 6  or 7 driver update issues that were easily solved.

The only missing part here is how to do that complete stuff for a new m.2  eSSD where you can boot from a lot faster.
