Considering that China uses the same plug type as Australia (just upside down) a bit surprising that the US plug is the default type. Maybe they expect more US customers than Chinese.
I have been successfully these (I got a three pack for $20) although one of the packs is quite noisy, and the plugs supplied do not really fit snugly in the charging port. So if you moved around, the electrical connection would likely be lost. Luckily I had some more of the same size floating around from a couple of my Dad’s old universal power supplies (probably made in Australia), these fit more snugly and maintain the connection better. The max output of the Dick Smith universal power supply is only 2.5A (3.0A is what the original power pack outputs) but the EzBook will still charge the battery with less amps.
The cord is short on these, slightly shorter than the cord on original PSU in fact (D’oh!).So hunt around for a universal power supply with good quiality adapters (if those are even made any more) or a second-hand one, if it can do 2.5A @ 12V you should be okay.
November 8, 2017 at 1:47 pm #74571I went down a different route an just bought a xiaomi universal power board from gearbest. Then you can use the original adapter. you should be able to land one for not much over $10.
November 9, 2017 at 12:12 am #74586Update: I just wasn’t pushing the charging pins in with enough force, I see it has kind of a locking mechanism that keeps it secure. All of my charging pins the equivalent the original lock in, so the laptop can now be moved around fine while charging.
So with any cheap universal power supply that puts out at least 2.5A @ 12V you should be right.
November 9, 2017 at 6:55 am #74591Also, does anyone know what the connector type/size is on that unit?
This one https://www.amazon.com/uxcell-Spare-Parts-1-35mm-Connector/dp/B00Z5ARC3S
November 9, 2017 at 10:36 pm #74635Thanks for the replies guys.
@Steve – Dick Smith appears to have sold out of this pack but I’ll find an alternate solution somewhere…Cheers!

Is it a female to male extension lead?
There’s a watermark right on the female end…
November 12, 2017 at 4:01 pm #74794I’m sure it’s the same as this. Cords like these are intended for security cameras and I can’t think of an instance where you would want male plus on both sides.
November 13, 2017 at 7:11 pm #74834Yes, female one end, male the other, now I’ve got almost too much cable..
November 13, 2017 at 8:45 pm #74840I bought this adapter for use in the UK. Must be something similar for Oz I would have thought.

November 14, 2017 at 4:28 am #74849I ended up ordering this from Aliexpress.
Will simply replace the power cord with one with an aussie plug.
November 14, 2017 at 6:44 pm #74867I bought an ASUS Netook adapter and replaced the wire with the one from the adapter that came with the laptop. Works like a champ!
