I own ezbook 3 pro v2 (Toshiba emmc, no dual-band) for some time now. Recently decided to upgrade and bought ssd (Intel 540s).
And so the problem begins – first, I couldn’t initialize my ssd from windows disk managment. I’ve tried couple of other programs (aomei, easyUS etc) and somehow initialized it, but then I could not format it no matter what I was doing and what programs I was using. I’ve made some research and found that it may be the AHCI drivers problem, so I’ve installed new ones (https://www.win-raid.com/t3225f23-Intel-Apollo-Lake-N-SoC-AHCI-RST.html) – I could not see ssd at all. Someone here suggested lenovo AHCI drivers (https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/hu/hu/downloads/ds034629) so I’ve installed them. And finally I could format my ssd and it was working! Speeds were not great (at max 300mb/s) but everything was working.
The next day when I powered my ezbook – the ssd was gone! It was not seen in windows explorer nor disk management. I’ve tried to switch drivers but nothing works. In the end I reverted to original windows AHCI driver (from 2006) and then I could see my ssd in disk managment but again it was showing, that disk is not initialized! And of course I could not initialize it!
Anyone has idea what is going on? And what can I do?
I’m thinking about BIOS update. Mine is old from may 2017. But is it safe to flash the bios form let’s say v6? And would it change anything?
Additiona info: – ssd is not visible in BIOS, – ssd is ok – works flawlessly in my PC
