It does sound like it could be a hardware fault – I had similar symptoms on a Thinkpad a year or two ago and replacing the WiFi card fixed the issue.
That said, it could be other conflicts too – what antivirus are you using?
Have you tried booting in Safe Mode and reinstalling all drivers?
October 17, 2017 at 4:43 pm #73593I have never been able to access Windows in the first place.
October 17, 2017 at 8:04 pm #73597So I finally had some time to work on this thing today. Sadly it looks it’s simply broken.
At “normal startup”, the laptop shows the Jumper logo and the turning circle. After a few seconds, the screen turns black (but is still one). When i move the mouse the cursor appears for a few seconds, sometimes showing a blue turning circle. Sometimes it crashes to blue in this state, with different exceptions.
I can access Windows Rcovery, however:
– “Fix Startup” yields no results
– Reset device breaks after 20%, saying that there was an error and I have to restart.
– Restore points are unavaillable so i cannot restore
– I can choose “Install from Disk” and access the hard drive and i see all the files, 3 partitions, file structures of Windows but cannot do anything else with it
– I have tried making a bootable USB stick with Cloudready (Chrome OS) and it does boot, however shows only a white line in the upper right corner and freezesA minute ago i finished making a Bootable USB Drive with Windows 10 and it actually launches! At least it shows the language selection screen. However, i have written Gearbest and did not get a reponse yet asking specifically if over-installing the system voids the warranty / return process in case the lapotp will still be broken afterwards.
October 17, 2017 at 11:05 pm #73602I had something similar with my Onda Xiaoma 21 and diagnosed it as faulty EMMC storage in the end.
I installed an SSD, switched off the EMMC and all works fine. I tested originally by booting Windows with a Win2USB live Windows 10 USB install, which worked fine.
With the EMMC I found that sometimes it would blue screen on boot, sometimes it would boot loop, sometimes go straight to bios only. Sometimes it would even boot fine!
Good luck, not sure Gearbest are easy for warranty returns from what I’ve heard, so might be worth trying the usb live install first.
October 18, 2017 at 8:24 am #73608Try a fresh install of Win10 but use the Microsoft Media Creation Tool to create a Win10 USB stick – the Win10 licence key is in the Jumpers UEFI BIOS so don’t worry about that.
If you can narrow it down to the EMMC then probably cheaper to buy a small m.2 SSD (the soldered on 64GB emmc storage is very slow in comparison anyway) rather than the hassle of shipping back to GB stright away?:

October 19, 2017 at 7:57 pm #73658Thanks for the answers.
Still waiting for a reply from Gearbest about reinstalling Windows.
It is indeed probably the EMMC, but i was able to access the Windows Command Line from Recovery and run a deep check disk, and it didn’t find any errors. I would assume some would show up if the EMMC was broken?
I was absolutely thinking about buying one of those SSD’s but i want to at least hear what Gearbest has to say about that. I’m a bit reluctant to buy an SSD if it’ll end up being another fault.
October 19, 2017 at 10:06 pm #73664My EMMC tested out OK on multiple tests as well, but it is clearly faulty 🙁
I would recommend a Live Windows USB install in the short term, as it doesn’t install anything to your EMMC, but it WILL demonstrate whether your machine is capable of booting and running Windows.

Did you up the speed of you eMMC in the BIOS? If so, put it back to DDR50 (ie the lowest setting) as the crappy eMMC supplied with the v4 can’t handle the higher speeds and produces errors.

I have not changed any settings in the bios. I have checked and it’s on DDR50 by default.
I have tried several Live-USB options. I tried “LinuxLive USB Creator” and “Universal USB Installer” with the latest Ubuntu desktop but none do work (only show a single sign in the middle of the screen after booting). I have also tried “WintoUSB” for making a live bootable Windows stick but it doesn’t boot.
Actually i’m suprised the Windows 10 setup made with the Media Creation Tool works because nothing else does.
I did receive a reply from Gearbest support stating the following:
“We have received the answer from our technical team as below:
Problem picture and problem description do not match, if Windows is not activated please provide product ID number.”
What this is supposed to mean, i have no idea.
They completely disregarded my proposal to try to reinstall Windows. I would even be willing to buy a small used M2 disk but i see that they are pretty unwilling to cooperate.
