I have a V4 and have no keyboard issues.

I did do a full wipe and install of Win10 (using a USB stick created using the Microsft Media Creation Tool) onto a m2.ssd I installed when I received though.

    Cheers

Hi Arthur, sounds like a lemon. My V4 keyboard is fine. A strange keyboard issue at that, because lag like that is normally software related. Open it up and check the keyboard ribbon cable, but I doubt it’s that. Try a factory reset? If not get the seller to sort it out.

Looks like Jumper are now using new bios on the V4 with it disabled, maybe to avoid overheating issues? There is a software work around here.

Thank for the help guys. What do you mean by reset? As in do a fresh install of Windows 10?

I’ll get a small screw driver set this evening and have a look – otherwise i’ll see what GearBest can do. Such a shame because the rest of this little laptop is great!

Reset this = Factory restore or recovery. Type Reset in the search bar of Windows and you will see the option.

Same issue here with my V4 (keys don’t repeat either when holding a key down, unless you hold it for like 3 seconds).

What should we do? I mean I love everything else about this laptop but this issue is far too irritating to live with! I’ve already got in touch with GearBest for a refund however they want photo or video proof and im not sure how me typing on my laptop will prove anything.

Is there any fix for this? I would love to keep this if the issue was resolved… otherwise it’s unusable for the tasks i need it for (copy writing).

For me it happens in the BIOS as well, so I would imagine it is either a hardware issue or a fault in the BIOS. I already checked all the settings in the BIOS and compared them to my V3; the only way I can see this getting fixed is a BIOS update (other than a refund/replacement). Funnily enough my V4 is running the exact same BIOS version as the V3. Maybe that is the issue?

But as you said: this issue is far too infurating to deal with; moreso than the touchpad of the V3 (which actually fixed itself after setting up this V4; the Windows settings synchronisation enabled the precision touchpad on the V3 as well and it works brilliantly now).

I will contact Gearbest as well. Let’s see what happens.

Wondering if it’s possible it is a BIOS issue seeing that it’s a different bios to the earlier V4’s. Is there anyway to check?

It is a real shame because every other aspect of the laptop is great (so far!). I’d much rather find a fix  than have to deal with GearBest – they’ve already asked me to send a photo of the defect TWICE – not sure how it’s something I can prove with a photo or video? I mean even if I record it they can just say im shit at typing!  It really is too big of an issue for me to put up with – honestly would rather any other defect.

On a side note, has anyone has success in getting a refund from GearBest? Even if they replaced the unit I’d imagine it would have the same issue….

    Hi guys,

I am interested in this budget laptop. From all the reviews I’ve watched/read this looks like a great laptop that is also very affordable.

Hope to do some coding on this laptop so a good keyboard is essential.

Just found this thread and I am bit concerned about the keyboard issue in the latest V4 being raised by numerous people.

Question; Do Ezbook/Jumper provide bios/uefi/firmware updates like other vendors do? Jumper doesn’t even have a website and the place where its drivers can be downloaded is techtablets.com https://techtablets.com/jumper-ezbook-pro/downloads/ ..

Well this wasnt good news… So I bought V4 which doesnt see my ssd, screen has two dead pixels and strange shadow in the middle, keyboard is laggy, bios dont have power limit setting BUT trackpad is good and that was already fixable by software… Wish i didnt have sold my V1 yet.

So, i literally got my ezbook 3 about an hour ago (version with sandisk emmc, haven’t checked power settings in the bios yet) and I am in fact having a few minor issues with typing and the touchpad. With the touchpad, things seem to lag a bit behind when I’m doing slow, precise motions. With normal use, things are fine, but when I’m close to a button but haven’t quite hit it yet, the minor adjustment can be a bit iffy.

When typing quickly, it does miss a few keystrokes as well. When just randomly hitting keys very quickly, it misses a lot of them. Slow typing is fine, though I have noticed that even with the shortest delay setting for holding a key down, it does take quite a while for it to start repeating them and even then it’s fairly slow.

I’ve turned the device off for now to let it charge fully. I’ll do a full windows reinstall tomorrow, test external keyboards/linux etc, but for now I’m slightly worried about the v4 with sandisk emmc.

Don’t get me wrong – the touchpad of the V4 is definitely better, but my V3 is workable now. It still doesn’t have the gestures or precision touchpad settings visible in Windows, and I had to set text scrolling to 1 line. It did enable the cursor acceleration though, which makes both small and large movements much easier to make.

I sent Gearbest a ticket with a video of the issue, and they told me to wait while their technical team confirms it.

Sounds like the exact same issue I’m having. I already reinstalled Windows 10 (full format), but that did literally nothing. External keyboards work just fine.

Hm, that’s.. discouraging. I wonder if it’s a software issue or a hardware one. If they can fix it through a bios update or something, that would be awesome.

On the other hand, I suppose chances are better that they’ll fix it (or accept returns) when it’s an actual issue multiple users are having and not just one or two individuals.

Has anyone tried disabled filter keys in windows? Read could even be a keylogger. There is several other things to try if you Google it
