Hi,
I’m looking such charger also. I’ve tried this one, but it doesn’t work absolutely (as charging as usb). Any advice will be appreciated!
January 27, 2017 at 9:40 am #61041Same problem š
I tried several type c hubs and none working. Windows do not even recognize them. Updated to newest Win 10 version, as well newest intel drivers.
The ezbook air do only accept original charger cable and the original provided USB adapter.
I checked my Chuwi tablet and there are theĀ same driver and win version – hubs working fine.Anyone have found a solutionĀ in this matter so far?
January 30, 2017 at 1:50 am #61220For those who are having issues with the JumperBook Air, here is the solution and cause of the problem:
First, before I go any further a quick recap of USB 3.X and USB C.
USB currently has USB 1.0, USB 2.0, USB 3.0 and USB 3.1, but recently they changed it to be USB 3.1 Gen1 instead of USB 3.0.
USB Ports can be A, B, Mini, Micro, Micro (3.0), and C. The USB C plug is just a plug, it does not mean USB 3.1 Gen2. You can wire a USB C plug to be USB 2.0 if you wanted to.
In the case of the JumperBook Air, the USB C plug is actually a USB 3.0 (or 3.1 Gen1 if you go by the “new” draft) USB 3.0 only supports a small amount of the PD (Power Distribution) protocalls that 3.1 allows. As a result, many charge/hub combos will not work. In addition the USB C charge port isn’t a standard USB C port as I have a Kingston USB C 64GB flash drive and it will not be detected when inserted. You also can’t use USB C to HDMI etc., as USB 3.0 doesn’t support these.
The only way I found to get charging and using a hub at the same time was to find a cheap USB C hub that allows for current to flow in the opposite direction, and I stress I have no idea what this will do to the hub or your JumperBook Air. I have a USB wall charger that I connect a USB A to A cable that provides 15W, I plug that into the USB Hub and my JumperBook Air will start charging and I can use USB devices on the hub. Only issue is that I am sure this isn’t the way the hubs are supposed to work, and might cause issues.
January 31, 2017 at 4:43 pm #61290Hi David,
Thank you for your explanation. I’ve requested some support in Jumper official storeĀ and lookĀ the message I received:
Hello, my dear friend, There is a Type C to USB adapter in the package if you buy EZbook Air, like the picture below. And if you want to buy a single multi-function adapter, you can buy through the link below. https://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/Reversible-Type-C-to-HDMI-USB-Type-C-Adapter-for-Jumper-EZbook-Air/2216020_32789628270.html
OK, I will try this adapter and then inform the community.
