If you have a EZPad 5s and are getting a crackling sound with speaker/headphones plugged into the headphone jack, post here. Actually, if you DON’T have that problem, please post here saying so. I’d like to get a feel for how common this is. Mine definitely has this problem, and it’s a huge disappointment because it’s and otherwise capable cheap Windows tablet.
My one also has crankling sound. I found out that it’s something to do with WIFI. If i use wifi heavily such as downloading files or watching streaming video, ezpad makes hissing sound. I think noise shield is not enough for wireless chip and antenna. Maybe Power management in mainboard while using wifi is problem. But in the point that other tablets using kinda chinese style reference mainboard have no problem, So i think hissing sound is only related to noise shield. Anyway, if i have time, i will open ezpad and find out way to install noise shield.
+1 on the crackling noise. I’ll look forward to a solution to this, as one of the main reasons I wanted this tablet is to watch movies remotely from my media server at night.
