I have an EZbook 3 Pro (v4) and of course ordered an SSD to put in the slot beneath to increase the storage.
Unfortuntately, the one I’d ordered, a KingSpec 256Gb model https://www.aliexpress.com/item/NT-256-240GB-256GB-NGFF-SSD-HDD-M-2-SATA-6Gb-s-MLC-Solid-State-Disk/32817754508.html
didn’t work as expected. It was less than 1MB/s write – so CrystalDiskMark took over 5 minutes to register the first benchmark, due to it taking forever to write the test file to the disk!
Utterly useless as an SSD of course, and utterly weird why it would be so slow – obviously some strange incompatibility between the Jumper and this SSD.
Anyway, the fix is to install the hacked AHCI driver (the default one with Windows 10 is from 2006) that this kind person has created https://www.win-raid.com/t3225f23-Intel-Apollo-Lake-N-SoC-AHCI-RST.html#msg45256
After a world of pain trying to join this site just to emphasise this, I’ve finally managed to. Not sure why other people are having ‘normal’ results with their SSDs, but for me, the only fix was this hack.
