    Hi,

I’m having issues with my cube i7 book tablet (standard hardware configuration), as it reboots during certain tasks almost constantly. I have noticed that the forced rebooting does happen more often when the tablet is “on the plug” as opposed to when it is draining energy from the battery. Here are some of the most common trends that force rebooting, which I have noticed so far:

    1. Transferring files from one external device to another (both connected via USB)
    2. Extensive use of command-line interpreters for text editing and system administration stuff (e.g., vim, ubuntu bash on linux or powershell)
    3. Compiling a library from source (I tried with libraries that take ~10-15 minutes to build with windows and portable build tool chains)
    4. Taking digital notes with stylus in OneNote (if I draw and write a note equivalent to one A4 sheet of technical notes)

This has become super annoying and has already led to some important loss of data.

I originally bought this tablet for quick programming tests and note-taking, thinking that the hardware configuration is quiet fit for these tasks. I don’t know if the problem is due to the tablet heating up too much, or due to hard disk read/write issues. Surprisingly, the tablet does not reboot whenever I play old games like Counter Strike, Mafia and Warcraft III, it does get pretty hot, but it does not reboot, maybe only once.

I was wondering if you had similar issues with the tablet.

    How about its temperature?

    How about its temperature?

So you suggest to do the thermal mod to avoid this annoying rebooting, or you are asking what is the exact temperature registered whenever the device reboots? I guess I would then have to compare with the temperature when I play games. For the record, by simply “touching” the tablet I would say that the temperature is about the same whenever I program/compile or play, this is why it is so weird that it does reboot abruptly whenever I do something “useful” as opposed to when I do something to entertain myself…

I was asking you if it was overheating but looks like it’s not as you say its body is not hot. You can search Windows log to see if there’s something abnormal.
