Hi Chris (I think that’s the name I’m supposed to be addressing),

I’ve been on the forum for a few months now and after being gone for a while, I notice that it’s really really slow.

Sometimes it takes a full minute for a page to load. First comes the basic html and you can see that after a while the css kicks in, then come the embedded parts. I’m not sure why that is, maybe because the site gained a lot more attention and the server can’t handle the views per second or something.

I’m not complaining (well, i kind of am, but I’m not demanding for it to be fixed), just wanted to bring it to your attention that maybe a server upgrade would be nice. (and I know that that’s not free)

Hi, should be fast. There is bot traffic and the firewall maybe. Huge influx of bots hitting the site trying to login every second. Already upgraded the server twice now. It’s on a Xenon with 32GB of DDR4 RAM and SSD’s. Have you tried loading from another IP? It loads up fast for me here in Spain.
The issue could be CloudFlare the CDN and your location?

It’s loading fairly fast here in Brazil.

Hmm, that’s strange, since I’m in NL, 150Mbit/s line..  Server specs seem fine.

Not sure what to do now, tried it via my phone on 4G and it took 25 seconds to load a thread.

Oh well, maybe it’ll resolve after some time.

Odd, have you been opening up a lot of tabs all at the same time of the site? The server could be throttling you. I had to set such limits in place due to all the bot hits.

I had done that once or twice, to check out all the new posts about the x98. Is it possible that my ip is in some kind of throttling filter?

It might have throttled you for that, now the throttle list for accessing the site too quickly (like a bot) is empty, so right now you aren’t throttled as far as I can see.
