Rinat. Tearing my hair out trying to fix my Hi 12’s sudden inability to read any microsd card in Win 10 (they all work fine in android).   I want to try a fresh install of Win 10 a try but there appears to be some confusion in the Chuwi forums as to whether Windows will reactivate using the key stored in BIOS. Has anyone tried the method described in Rinat’s link?

Fred, of course it was successfully repeated more than once. Just read this thread.

Are there any solution for keeping android too?

What if we replace the install.wim and boot.wim from the official dual boot firmware, would it work?

    Peter,

To replace instal.wim is possible in principle. But it needs to edit scripts and integrate missing files in the install.wim file. This work is not for a regular user. What’s the point of this? Just wait 2016 Anniversary upgrade.

Peter, you have provoked me to compile the installation file. In fact that you are so much wanted is quite possible. I have successfully edited install.wim of installation Win10 Home x64 en-us 1607 10.0.14393.0 (it’s RTM ESCROW of Redstone 1), adding a few files from Chuwi and replace the original one in Chuwi’s installation file. As a result, I have successfully flashed Win10 Anniversary, then install all drivers, but during the installation had to kill Android because I faced with the problem that is described in this thread. I did not have time to look for another way to work around this error, but I think at the second attempt, I will correct it.
So the method of compiling the Chuwi’s installation file is quite suitable for installation with a pure untouched install.wim
