Rene one of the best free programs for backing up your hard drive is AOMEI Backupper Standard.  You can download it at http://www.backup-utility.com/free-backup-software.html  I’ve used it for long along with Acronis, but I prefer AOMEI.

Macrium seems to be using a paid license structure?

Currently using the software John suggested. THANKS!

The free version is working great so far.

Installed the software under windows, created a USB stick with UEFI support and windows PE (you also have the ability to create a linux based boot USB)

Great thing is that you don’t need a USB hub with this software or a USB keyboard. With the USB stick (used an old 2gb) plugged into the USB 2 port and the external drive plugged into the USB 3 port, it will boot from the USB  stick, and the reason you don’t need a USB keyboard is because the touch is working.

Nice. Speed of the USB drive is not optimal (10MB/s) but that’s no problem IMO.

So, thanks for your tip John, this is exactly what i was looking for (and even more than that)

Arh.. I’ll have to revise my feedback. After creating a full image and verified the image, I tried to recover the entire disk, but that didn’t work. Windows crashes immediately crying for a uefi usb disk for recovery. When performing a full reinstall of Windows 10 home, do i need to keep any partitions for the bios to work correctly or can I delete everything? I read the win 10 key is stored in the uefi? (So i don’t need to buy a new license)?
