Hello,
i bought my Chuwi HI8 this week.
And now i have a few questions:
- Is there a Android Update to 5.0 or something like that?
- Is it possible to make a clean Windows 10 update without destroying the android partition?
- The other way round: Is it possible to make a clean Android update without destroying the windows parition? (or even to make a clean install of Android 4.4, because my Chuwi is secondhand)
- Is it possible to install TWPR, Root and so on to flash Custom ROMs if available? (again without destroying the Windows partition)
- If anything does not work (Camera, speaker, touch) Where can i find the right driver?
I am very new with tablets. I have a bit experience with phones, Costum ROMs and Flashing.
So i would be very happy if you could help me.
Thank you very much.
April 8, 2016 at 8:54 am #32634Chuwi hi8 only support Android 4.4 and windows OS. You can’t update to Android 5.0 now. But It is not impossible. I was told that it may be updated in future from Chuwi staff on Chuwi Official forum.
If you don’t need Android OS,you can delete it. But you can’t delete Windows OS.
The right driver can be download from Chuwi Official forum ( i think it is the most official ), including firmware, Bios, driver, tutorial, etc.

Is there a solution to get a “new” Chuwi HI2 if it is second hand?
So the software is right out of the box? and everything ist deleted?

April 9, 2016 at 3:22 pm #32802How do you remove windows? I’d just like android. Any good roms out there?
April 18, 2016 at 11:48 am #34054So I have now a new updated Win10 and Android 4.4. Is there a way to install TWPR and root (SuperSU) to put up Custom Roms, but without deleting Win10?
May 3, 2016 at 1:58 pm #35926I am using Chuwi Hi8 in a sleeve where I will not be able to change cables for data and charge. I do not need to charge while tablet is on. Can I splice power into OTG cable? I want to use data when tablet is on and charge when tablet is off and power is applied. What is the best way to handle this?
June 8, 2016 at 10:22 am #40255You can use this Micro 4 Port USB Power Charging OTG Hub Adapter Cable For PC Smartphone http://www.ebay.com/itm/171725896495?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT, hub must be connected and switched to charge before windows boot.
